There is debate because there are many people who are sure that the Bible is not true, that it is bunk, so they busily try to find things that are false in Scripture. Some of these people come here to the Christian Forum to do just that, to attack the Scriptures and those who believe the Word of God is true. God allows much that is evil in the World. We don't have answers for everything, but still the Word of God is the truth. Stay with the things you are sure of, like, "Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving oneanother, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you," and like Exodus 20:11: "In six days God made he heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, . . ."

In spite of all the jive, the Bible clearly states that dinosaurs were created on the same day as Adam and therefore they lived at the same time, beginning about 6000 years ago. Before the discovery of dinosaur fossils back in the 1800's men were already talking about dinos and describing them as creatures with which they were familiar. Only someone disconected from the truth of Scripture and bound up with supposed definitive dating of modern science could miss this plain simple statement of Scripture: all land animals were created on the same day as Adam.

Actually, Carbon dating said a live snail was 2,300 years old! Also, Earth's magnetic field is decaying, which would affect your Carbon dating because C-14 dating is directly related to how much radiation gets into our atmosphere, which would be deflected by our magnetic field. Btw, some people have proposed (they hope) that our Magnetic field repolarizes. Unfortunately, we can't use the ocean rocks to justify this because they operate on an independant source different from our magnetic field. Also, the electrical field in Earth's core and mantel control the magnetic field. 20,000 years is the upper limit for this charge, because 20,000 years is how long it would take to melt the Earth.
