It's honest in the same way that aWhat is dishonest of them written in their Statement of Faith?
Hmm, ok.No I don’t.
Ok, I understand. But that’s what some people do here, too. Start with a certain position then reject all evidence which conflicts with anything contrary to their position. For the record, I think that’s wrong and people should look at the evidence first, then base their conclusions on the evidence.Hmm, ok.
I suppose for those who didn't major in amy of
the sciences, the topic of scientific integrity has
not necessarily been a topic of interest.
You might tho like to go through this-
Scientific Integrity and the Ethics of 'Utter Honesty'
Honesty is a core scientific virtue, but what does it require of us?thereader.mitpress.mit.edu
As related directly to the AIG thing-
They pledge to put a predetermined conclusion ahead of
and regardless of all data, all facts is pure and refined
scientific dishonesty. There's other ways they display
a lack of integrity, but that's in a pledge.
The notorious tobacco " research" of years gone by was
done that way. "Let's prove tobacco is harmless".
Totally dishonest. I doubt any were so stupid they
didn't know what they were doing.
Regard.ess, I was not really concerned with the
individuals, but with AIG and its inherently dishonest
nature.
Anyone who does that in the name of scienceOk, I understand. But that’s what some people do here, too. Start with a certain position then reject all evidence which conflicts with anything contrary to their position. For the record, I think that’s wrong and people should look at the evidence first, then base their conclusions on the evidence.
I haven't seen any AIG videos but generally laughter is used to mock the other side. This is slightly off topic but one of the things that gets me about AIG is how, on their internet news program (whatever it’s called) the “experts” fake laugh whenever they’re talking about the other side. It really makes them sound as if they’re trying to convince themselves of the things they’re spouting off.
In the video the Hovind claims a "professor" explained to him the Big Bang was a small dot that rotated faster and faster before it exploded 20 billion years ago.
This is not a description of the Big Bang, either Hovind made up the story or the "professor" doesn't know what he is talking about.
Georges Lemaître said:According to the Big Bang theory, the expansion of the observable universe began with the explosion of a single particle at a definite point in time.
Did you bother reading the article in its entirety?
Your attempts to defend Hovind's dishonesty has backfired. His idea that the universe had an explosive birth was developed much further by other cosmologists, including George Gamow, to become the modern Big Bang theory. While contemporary views of the early universe differ in many respects from Lemaître’s “primordial atom,” his work had nevertheless opened the way. Shortly before his death, Lemaître learned that Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson had discovered the cosmic microwave background radiation, the first and still most important observational evidence in support of the Big Bang.
Yet agreeing with Hovind's honesty and truth has never backfired.
Do you choose to agree with any poster's honesty , if and when there is such a thing ?
If Hovind is being honest then you should have no difficulty in showing modern day textbooks on cosmology indicate the Big Bang was the result of a particle that spun faster and faster until it exploded 20 billion years ago.Yet agreeing with Hovind's honesty and truth has never backfired.
That's basically correct IF YOU DON'T KNOW.Actually... yes. Honesty and humility are the two qualities that admire most... people seem to forget however that the phrase that best embodies them both is... I don't know.
No one on this forum, or in any school, anywhere, has proven that textbooks can be trusted. If Hovind is being honest then you should have no difficulty in showing modern day textbooks on cosmology indicate the Big Bang was the result of a particle that spun faster and faster until it exploded 20 billion years ago.
And still the question is if someone is willing to seek honesty (with humility if you like)
or not , to always about everything keep seeking the truth, or not?
In line with All Yahweh's Word, Plan and Purpose, to all who seek and keep seeking truth,And there's the problem, some people don't keep seeking... they arrogantly assume that they've already found it, Ken Hovind comes to mind. How about you... are you still seeking... or have you already found it?
