Still going at it, huh? Keep discussing if you like, but I realized quickly why it is that I disagree that the earth is so young.
Thank you all so much for your replies
The Bible speaks inerrantly on every subject it addresses. (Note: Biblical inerrancy is ascribed to the autographs alone). So let me get this straight. The bible is correct about, everything?
I'm not sure I'd say it quite like that. :o Are you referring to 1 Cor. 1:20?Perhaps God purposely made the evidence look as if it is correct when infact it is incorrect? Doesn't God fool the 'wise' of every age?
1 Cor 1:20 in addition to this:I'm not sure I'd say it quite like that. :o Are you referring to 1 Cor. 1:20?
Precisely my point Josh. There is a significant difference between the following statements:1 Cor 1:20 in addition to this:
1 Corinthians 3
18Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; 20and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." 21So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, 22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the futureall are yours, 23and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
The statements are different, but if God created wisdom they are one in the same.Precisely my point Josh. There is a significant difference between the following statements:
a) God views the wisdom of man as foolishness in every age.
b) God sets out to fool men in every age.
While I agree that there are situations in which God sends delusions upon certain groups [2 Thes. 2:11], I'm not convinced your former statement regarding God's fooling men is consistent with the texts you have cited.
