How old are boys when they have wet dreams?

Since he and mom have been having age appropriate discussions since he was 4, I doubt he would be more comfortable with a male passing acquantace than the primary source of his information to this point (mom). Has it occured to anyone what his train of thought would be on this. "Mom and I have talked lots before about everything...now there is this one thing she won't talk to me about. I have to talk to a man I don't know as well as her about something so 'strange' my mother is shying away from after all this time." What explanation would she give her son as to why now, when he needs her support and understanding most (as his past primary source of information), is she unable to maintain the openess they once had?

I would have to agree. The point seems to be that there isn't a sdtrong male figure in this kid's life. Mom seems like the best bet here not 2nd best. Also, to the OP if you would like some good information on this, alot of the Pregnancy Centers that my organization refers to have men's program's and abstenience programs and could offer some great advice on talking to him. If you want to PM me I can help you find a good one.

I go to a moms support group and we had a speaker once
about this and puberty and the speaker said that it can happen
as early as 10 years old. My son is 10 and I have talked to him
about all of this stuff. He was not embarrassed at all. My parents never talked
to me about anything and I just don't want to do that to my kids. Most of the stuff I heard when I was 11 and 12 years old was not even right and I was so confused. Better to get it all out in the open and do not act like it is something to be embarrassed about. Pray before you talk to your kids. The Lord will give you all the right words to say.
I always thought in the back of my mind that I would eventually talk to my child about puberty but before I knew it he was already there. My son is currently 13 but he's such an early bloomer that his mind isn't cought up with his body yet.

Wet dreams still come from lust, whether you are awake or asleep, its still lust, and lust is not of God.

I think it is a cop-out to say 'im asleep so i have no control' its not true, if you were having lust issues while you were awake you would pray for Gods help, so it should be no difference when you are having these dreams while asleep, pray that God would bless and protect your dreams.

The enemy uses dreams too you know, and this is one way, so dont accept it as 'normal'. It says in the Bible that we will be held accountable for all idel thoughts.
God can hear our thoughts as loud as we hear our voice, and he sees whats in our hearts.

If we didn't have nocturnal emissions in order to get rid of dead sperm, our testicles would explode due to them constantly producing sperm.

That is of course if you don't touch, or are having sex (inside or outside of marriage).

As then nocturnal emissions don't happen :)

I think you would be suprised what some 10 year olds can think about (lust is possible at 10!)...

Im studying 'Human Physiology' at university and it is not true that males keep producing sperm untill it is excreted. They dont produce any more sperm after 4 days. So if it is 12 days later that it is excreted, then only 4 days worth will be excreted not 12 days worth.

That is why it is recomended to those wanting to conceive to have sex after the four days/at the four days and not too often. Because sperm is at peak and the most 4 days.

Now this takes the cake. There is no control we can have over wet dreams unless you touch or have sex frequently enough (I assume you aren't recommending this to the young lad?;) ) to overcome the biological need for expelling "old" sperm. In the old Testament Levitical laws on sexual issues and discharges, men had a cleansing period to go through after a discharge of sperm that was not the same as the one for men following sexual intercourse. And in that passage, there is no indication that sin was involved

. The men were not required to make an offering to atone for their emmissions if they had a discharge. There was no sin!!!

It would be inappropriate and sad

to place guilt on anyone, especially a child, who is experiencing a perfectly normal biological process--by telling them THEY WERE SINNING AND THEY SHOULD STOP.

But to say that all 10 year olds who have this happen is absurd. You are asserting that all 10 year old boys who have a wet dream have lustful thoughts. I disbelieve. This is a physical action that has NO control over it by the person experiencing it (They're asleep for crying out loud!)

Spoken like a true woman, we have about as much control over this issue as you do over your period.
