The dude played Jules in Pulp Fiction, Mace Windoo in Star Wars prequels, Nick Fury in Marvel Comics flicks, he has fought snakes on planes, he was Ordell in Jackie Brown, another Tarantino classic, and the guy knows Thor, Ironman, Hulk, and a slew of other influential superheroes.

Bottom line.....we need this man! He'll blow Palamalou's fame right off the market and make Orthodoxy a national name!

Yes, it's believed the prayers of all monks and nuns around the world are sustaining the earth. St. Silouan has said that without their prayers, the earth would have perished a long time ago.

So if the monks stopped praying the world would be destroyed?

Jackson is definitely a convert -- in a good way.

God grant him many years.

Personally, I have learned a lot from the cradle Orthodox people that I have known. I just had to humble myself and realize that I still had (and have) a lot to learn. Most cradle Orthodox that I know don't do a lot of talking about living an Orthodox life, they just live it. Often, I don't think the portrayal of cradle Orthodox is a fair one. If those of us who are converts will humble ourselves, there is much we can learn from cradle Orthodox.

destroyed? I don't think so, because that's God's business and He does not destroy what He creates, at least without some higher salvation in mind, but I would say that life would be much, much worse.

Interesting. It is hard for me to wrap my head around such a mystical idea. My view of the world, although I do believe in God, tends to be a pretty naturalist one of cause and effect. It is hard to grasp this idea that because there are some who pray unceasingly this chain of cause and effect is altered.

well, I would not say that it is altered, it could just be that we have not seen the full effects of the monastics' prayers yet.
