It amazes me how many makers of dark chocolate feel the need to put milkfat in their product. Personally, I think the chocolate tastes better without it, anyway.

So I was really happy when I discovered that Newman's Own Organics had a super yummy Sweet Dark chocolate bar that is totally vegan. I commented on their website to tell them yay for providing vegan products (and let them know there is a market for more). I got a personal reply with a list of all their vegan products. I figured I'd share with any other U.S. vegans looking to pad their shopping list:

I found this website the other day... http://www.isitvegan.info/ Lists *loads* of products and manufacturers and tells you if it's vegan or not. Though like they say on the site it's a UK site and products may differ in other countries.
Cool, thanks.

There are a few companies here in the U.S. who actually put "vegan" on the label, which I SO appreciate. That way we don't wonder about mysterious "natural flavors" or any such thing.

Do y'all have Amy's brand products over there? They are so good -- vegetarian and vegan stuff, clearly labeled and yummy.
