  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm 5'10" and 150 lbs, and bench 3 sets 10 reps at 210
my incline 3 sets 30 reps at 150 free weights, and my decline 3 set 10 reps is 340, but the decline is not free weighted. Thats just the first part of my routine. I've never gone for max.
Impressive:thumbsup:

It depends on what day it is as to what I bench. I was benching 315 for my workouts, but have been leaning out now, so I'm doing all my chest with dumb bells. Right now I'm focusing on light weight heavy reps i.e. 50 to 60lb dumb bells around 20 to 30 reps.

If it's not free weights, it doesn't count.

This is what I understand to be a true bench press, which I never do. I use the incline press OR, and I know we are all sick of this, I use the swiss ball and dumbells. Functional strength.
So I can in great form use 2 10 lb. weights. In a supine position, head and shoulders comfortable on the ball, glutes tight, knees above ankles (90 degrees), narrow base of support, and excellent chest press form. Very challenging.

But I think this thread is more about power, so carry on and God BLess you, J

height = 5'10'
weight = 159 lbs
bench = 5 reps of 185 lbs
pullup = 18 reps
squat = 4 reps of 245 lbs (chicken legs)
deadlift = 5 reps of 205 lbs
clean = 5 reps of 145 lbs
military press = 4 reps of 115 lbs

I don't do maxes or track them. I track my low / high rep weights and compare performance gains from that record.

I know you asked for bench but that is where I'm the weakest (I feel). My totals are down due to me going all natural. I was taking Cell-Tech and Whey Protein but feel it was hurting my body so I stopped a couple of months ago. That knocked about 30-70lbs. off my maxes. Now I'm trying a new routine and it's putting on about 5lbs. to my bench each week. I rarely max out on bench due to lack of spotters.

Before i ripped my right pec i was benching 3 plates. Over the last 2 years its been a rough road back to getting my strenght. Very rough. That and i tried a new training program that failed.
BB benching,, i don't max out anymore...too much risk.
Flat: 275 x 3 reps
Incline: 245 x 2

DB:
Flat 115 x 3
Incline 95 x 3

Heavy squatting is a waste of time in IMHO. I used to squat 3-10 reps max and my legs where alot smaller then going lighter and keeping the reps above 10 on all 3 sets. Legs are very diff then upper body so they should be trained differently. Fast vs slow twitch muscle.
