How much pop do you drink?

Personally, I drink very little. My drink of choice is milk or water. On occassion, you might catch me with a sprite or dr. pepper.

I ask because Saturday I went to return bottles. I had $2.60 worth...over 5 or 6 months time. So I'm at the bottle return and I'm looking at all these people who have a cart-worth of bottles! Most of the people had that many to return. There were a couple, like me, who had a little. It was on my mind to ask some of the people if they accumulate this stuff over a year, month, week...that's a lot of bottles and cans!

So, fess up, how much do you drink?

Well before the end of the year I was drinking about 3 cans a day of my pop of choice (Dr. Pepper). Since the first of the year though I have made an effort to drastically cut down - I even got some flavored water to help me through my work day when I'm craving something other than water.

I don't like most pop, but that new 7up plus with the calcium, well, I don't feel as guilty drinking that. I have convinced myself it's healthy. I'm one of those people who couldn't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi if my life depended on it.

I used to love Faygo Soda in glass bottles. Town Club was pretty popular as well. But for me I liked Rock n Rye, Red Pop, and Mountain Dew. It had to be glass. Pop just does not taste the same in plastic or in cans.

I drink probably about 4-6 16.9 ounce bottles a week. I mostly drink decaf coffee. Out of a plastic mug ;)

You called it pop! Yay! I'm from "pop" territory but I go to school in "soda" country (California) and they all make fun of me.

But as to the question, I hardly ever drink it. I never got in the habbit because when I was younger my mom told me that if I drank pop my teeth would turn brown and fall out. I was quite scared of that and stayed away from it and by the time I was old enough to realize that -wouldn't- really happen, I didn't have much of a taste for it.

Oh yeah...forgot about calling it Soda. I've heard people use Coke as a generic form for pop as well...can't remember where that is at though.

Haha yes! They do that in the South. My boyfriend is from the South and he calls everything Coke - we often fight about this. :p

I avoid the "name controversy" by refering to it as a refreshing carbonated beverage. :D

However, I drink maybe a total of 5 or 6 cans/bottles a year. My beverage of choice is water with a little apple cider vinegar in it...occassionally iced tea and on rare occassion a cup of coffee.

We call every type of soda "Coke" here in Alabama. I drink way to much coke. I usually drink the Sam's Choice brand of Diet Cola because its cheaper and in my opinion just as good as the others. I usually drink about 6-8 a day starting with breakfast, but I don't drink coffee so I gotta have something to give me that morning caffeine rush.:yum: :p

I drink waaaay too much pop! Coke mostly. It's funny because as a kid I wouldn't drink coke at all.

This week I swore off pop completely. It's nothing but a weight-gainer for me. In the last year I put on ten pounds and pop figures heavily into that because I don't just have a pop, I have chips, corn snacks, french fries or some other salty munchy to go with it, so even though there's only like 150 calories in a can, I would consume another 400 in snacks, too.

Well, in my neck of the wood we call it all coke.

Pop sounds funny!! ;)

Calling it all coke does get rather confusing though. When retrieving a beverage from the refrig for another, one must inquire whether a Coke, coke is desired or one of the other varieties available is desired. :D

pop/coke/fizzy drink/carbonated liquid all costs money and lots of it.

I don't have that so I don't drink it.....

The Bible speaks about the body being a temple of The Holy Spirit, and The Holy Spirit dwells within...might sound silly but I think about what I put into my body for that reason.

Too much sugar/oil/red meat/alcohol etc etc etc is not good.

Pop. :) I drink WAY too much coke (our general term for "pop" or "soda".) I go through a 12 pack of coke every other day. It is sad. I started this habit in college and have waxed and waned since then. I am currently trying to cut it down a great deal and simply drink water, but I don't trust our tap water. I want to get one of those bottles of water for our house (the ones that you can buy from a service that are like the water coolers at work). Then I'd drink a lot more water and a lot less coke.

lol, rural preacher. I have 3 12-packs of coke in our closet, but none of them are actually "Coke". They're all Pepsi and Cherry Coke. lol

So basically it's normal to have a cart-worth of returns at the end of the month:) I shouldn't talk, I probably eat more chocolate than you consume pop.I guess I should have started a poll to see if it should be Pop, Soda, Soda-Pop or Coke:)
