But is our oil producers who have caused prices to drop through a dramatic increase of availability through shale oil freed from geological formations via fracking. This is all being done on private leases, since the government under Obama has actually reduced federal land leases and is trying to stop fracking. Obama has done nothing to cause the price of gas to drop. In fact, he has done much to attempt to increase it, but free market enterprise has thus far prevailed and defeated his efforts.
Canada taxes gas heavily to help pay for health care and other things. I am sure that some folks in washington have similar ideas on paying for health care for us in mind in the future.Yikes!! $4.93US a U.S. gallon? I'm sorry.

Actually this is not necessarily entirely true. A president with a good relationship with a large oil producing country could convince them to increase their production as to lower the price of oil and with it gas prices typically drop also. It is only when all the oil producing countries are operating at maximum output that he cannot convince someone to increase production. I believe the Saudis increased their oil production around the time of Operation Desert Storm perhaps Bush talked them into it and we have cheaper gas prices during that war than before it.

Unleaded petrol in the UK at my local supermarket fuel station is ...........wait for it.......$8.75 a UK gallon which is 4.5 litres per gallon, we price our petrol in litres here and the cheapest I know of is £1.26 a litre for unleaded 95 Octane.2.98 is the cheapest around here, 3.35 is the most expensive around here.
Oh okay...Yes. Takes 3.8 liters to make a U.S. gallon, current exchange rate is one U.S. dollar per 1.12 Canadian dollars ... do the math, it equals $4.93US (with a point seven added on).

So when Fox Business has to cover the politically inconvenient low price of gasoline, all logical consistency must be tossed out the window in order to maintain the Obama is terrible talking point. My son in NC lost his doctor and my other son and daughter-in-law liked their insurance but lost it because of Obamacare!
