We are still in the darkness, until the Second Coming. God has not brought the world through the fire and out onto the other side yet.
What do you think the darkness is? I understand darkness to mean death, and since Jesus came we no longer have to fear death because we will never experience it. So by that logic I say we're no longer living in darkness.

How do we not experience death? Where is that described in Scripture, or is that your point Freedm?

Sometimes the english bible is vague. But "death" is often called "sleep" when referring to the physical death for believers, and "death" in the bible refers to the second death that happens to nonbelievers at judgement.

We do not experience death because we will move from this life straight into the next. Jesus told us straight up that we would never experience death.

John 8:51
Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.

I used to be confused by this. I thought he probably meant "after we're resurrected on the last day, then we will never again see death, but first we will have to die once". So I thought Jesus wasn't being very clear, or he was exaggerating, but I see it differently now. Now the way I understand things, what he said right there in John 8:51 makes perfect sense to me. This is the instant resurrection that believers now experience, during this thousand year reign. This is the first resurrection of Revelation 20. It's not everybody all at once, but it's everybody in their turn.

The darkness is humanity living for humanity's sake. Not many live for God on earth. There is no darkness in Paradise.

You're not wrong, but I'm trying to make a stronger connection between darkness and death. Maybe these verses will help.

Here Jesus explains that light is life, which by extension means that darkness is death.

John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

And here Zechariah explains that living in darkness is akin to living in the shadow of death, ie. darkness is death.

Luke 1:79
To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

The point I'm trying to make is that without Jesus there is no life, which I'm sure we all agree on, but more specifically that when Jesus came he cut through the darkness and shone the light of life, which contradicts exactly what you said when you said "We are still in the darkness, until the Second Coming. God has not brought the world through the fire and out onto the other side yet."

These following three verses also directly contradict your statement that we are still in darkness. These make it clear that we are no longer in darkness.

1 Thessalonians 5:5
For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.

Ephesians 5:8
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Colossians 1:13
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,

You say we are in darkness until the second coming but these prophets said we had come out of the darkness after the first coming.

But more and more are walking in the light. And that will continue, just like leaven working through the whole flour.

Time is up. It is not a finished loaf after 1991 years. It will never be leavened, unless the church repents, turns from wickedness, and seeks God's face.

That’s sad that you have so little confidence in Christ.

Do you mean God is just going to reward the wicked for being wicked?

The church has to do the work. The church does not just sit and relax in sin, and expect God to do it all. God provided the church to the world. That is how it works. If the church disobeys God, God is not going to reward disobedience with healing. God kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden. God will kick the disobedient church into the Lake of Fire.

It is sad, that the church expects God to do everything, while the church indulges in carnality.

20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place."

Nope. He’s going to continue to grow His church and prepare His bride just like He’s been doing for 2000 years.
