How many times you had to reinstall LINUX distro/broken system?

Arch, but only when I installed a package or something that had issues, and had to roll it back to fix it. When they switched to systemd, I had to do a couple of reinstalls on a laptop before it would even boot. After that, it was a real cow to get the right modules to load on boot, and some things refused to work altogether. I quit using/recommending it completely after that.

Pretty much every other distro has worked out just fine.

Ubuntu:
For the reason of outright breaking the OS, maybe 3(?) times over the past 8 years. Once on a test system, though, so that one may not really count. The other two times were: one of the really old errors in Breezy's (maybe it was Dapper's) installer where the values for the size of the Ubuntu partition and Windows partition were swapped, and I seem to remember something happened one time with Intrepid or Jaunty that required re-installing.

I follow the six-month release cycle and do a fresh install every time, but that's not needing to reinstall for breaking things (nor is it a reinstall; it's an upgrade).

For Windows, maybe 5 or 6 times over the past 10 years, concentrated in the early part of that time period. Something like that. The most recent time was in May 2009.

Arch is good and I have never had an issue with updates but, the devs seem to be making too many changes of late and that is keeping me (and others) away from adopting it as their primary system.

Debian is my default Linux choice as it is very stable. Yes, I have had breakages but they were usually self inflicted and using the unstable (sid branch) - that's why it's called unstable :)

Most off the shelf Linux distros are pretty rock solid these days.

I hear that Arch & Gentoo come with a supply of aspirin.

They also give you complimentary membership to a retirement home with gentoo :)

At least the change from MS to Linux is better than it was 10 years ago when I started to make my move. Never looked back since...

For those who like Windows apps but want to switch to Linux then look at playonlinux list of apps which provides Linux users to use Windows applications and games etc. Playonlinux should be found in the repository/software center of your chosen Linux distro.

The next couple of years look good for gamers on Linux thanks to Steam etc. There seems to be new titles daily appearing on Steam or being announced as porting to Linux.

Personally, I don't run Windows apps under Linux as I'm quite happy with the Linux equivalents but there will be some that need the ability to do so.

Yeah same same EphesianZ. I know it is more user-friendly these days. For so long I was just too lazy to make the switch. But too, there is SO MUCH ABSOLUTELY SOO MUCH bloatware in UBUNTU!

As far as playonlinux/wine goes, I'm fine without using those programs. Switched to Linux being sick of m$.
