I converted to Christianity a few weeks ago so I bought a Bible right away and have been reading it every day since then. I've made it as far as Judges so far. The plan is to read it right through to the end, then go back the beginning and read the whole thing again.

I've read all of the NT, most of it multiple times.

In the OT, I have been working my way through the prophets - read most of the minor prophets, struggling through Isaiah now - but have read the rest.

I read Psalms and Proverbs every month. Recently instead of reading some Old, some New, I divided my Bible into five sections (minus Psalms and Proverbs), each about as long as the Pentateuch. I read one chapter in each of those sections, plus five Psalms and one Proverb.

I don't know how many times I've read the Bible. I have no idea. I also study through it as I'm reading, comparing Scripture with Scripture. I just know that it feeds my soul, more so than anything else.

It helps to pray when I start reading, asking the Holy Spirit to teach me. He does. I have learned far more from listening than I did from Bible school courses.

Of course I didn't start reading the Bible this way. I started with Genesis too many times and failed, giving up by Numbers. Then someone told me to start with the book of John. That made a huge difference.

All Christians should read the whole Bible (in my opinion). It's hard to read it from beginning to end though. This is largely because you can become bogged down in some quite turgid bits early on in the OT ('Numbers' springs to mind!) There are countless daily reading plans that you can buy in book form or (I am sure) download - I'd recommend using one of these.

God bless - Chris

I am not a believer. I had read the bible. To and Fro. From Genesis to Revelation. About 5 times. I used to be a christian and therefore was fervant in my reading of the bible. I lost faith in God, now, though. I still read the bible even though I am a theistic Satanist now, one chapter a night. It is out of a personal habit. Somewhere in my heart, I hope and really hope that one day, I can believe in God, again.
