There are TE's present here who accept a literal/historic Adam and Eve as well.

I am TE and my church doesn't have an official stance, but the unofficial stance is definitely YEC.

In the evangelical world YEC seems to be the default position. While my church has no official postion, people seem to be shocked, awed and dismayed when they learn I am a TE. Most of them assume all Christians are YEC and they act on that assumption. Some are especially concerned since I am an elder. Thankfully, I am not alone -- out of five elders two of us are TE and my pastor is unconcerned.

I taught a class in my church on worldviews in which I went over the various positions on origins without revealing my own position. I was skewered and even ridiculed by more than one student for merely suggesting that TE is a viable position among others. The anti-TE propoganda in YEC world is strong and strident.

I go to a church my fiancée has become very attached to (for great reasons!) but they're staunchly YEC. We had a sermon once where a guy who took biology in college (now a chiropractor?) stood up and said evolution is bunk because there's more arthritis in the population than a few years ago

I do love the people and the mission though so I can hardly complain!
