So you feel that earth was here before creation week I guess. That leaves mankind as just a sort of recent guest here, and not part of the fist life created here? If not, do you have some idea of what it was doing here with no life before the universe existed?YECs do.
I'm not a YEC.
Like you'd know.Neither was the Earth.
The earth came into existence as a 4.57 billion year old planet -- or at least with some of its parts that old -- in 4004 BC.So you feel that earth was here before creation week I guess. There is no "embedded age," but everything including the universe was created in its maturity. Trees were bearing fruit, Adam was an adult man, fish were created in schools and birds in flocks.Which is one and the same. "Embedded age" is just magical nonsense.

I use that term "embedded age," because I can't think of a better one. There is no "embedded age," but everything including the universe was created in its maturity. Trees were bearing fruit, Adam was an adult man, fish were created in schools and birds in flocks.
Adam Clarke's Commentary on Genesis 2:5 said:It appears that God created every thing, not only perfect as it respects its nature, but also in a state of maturity, so that every vegetable production appeared at once in full growth; and this was necessary that man, when he came into being, might find every thing ready for his use.
Oh, I see. I guess it would look that old to some today. My opinion is that they can't date stuff very well. The earth came into existence as a 4.57 billion year old planet -- or at least with some of its parts that old -- in 4004 BC.
It has only gone around the sun some 6019 times.
I agree with this. However, if I found out on the other side that maybe Jesus planted seeds and they grew in days in Eden and over the world, rather than planting big trees it would not bother me.There is no "embedded age," but everything including the universe was created in its maturity. Trees were bearing fruit, Adam was an adult man, fish were created in schools and birds in flocks.
I accept God's word. Those who pretend to know better are conmen. And you do?
Do we not assume that earth and the universe are about the same age?

I'm easy.Oh, I see. I guess it would look that old to some today. My opinion is that they can't date stuff very well.
I'm easy.
I'll give them what they want if I can.
If they want to claim the earth is 4.57 billion years old, fine with me.
I'll appease them.
But it just makes it harder for them to understand Genesis 1.
The thing is though, they still moan & groan about it, complaining embedded age is nonsense.
You just can't please them.
As to your point, I'm with you 100%.
I think their dating techniques are for the birds.
One of the reasons I don't claim to be a YEC is because I believe God did embed some age (or apparent age) into His creation.
Maybe not much: but Adam, for instance, came on the scene as a mature adult.
With all due respect, it you believe that the physical world is the sum total of existence you lack understanding of reality. Not according to the evidence, i.e. physical reality.
With all due respect, it you believe that the physical world is the sum total of existence you lack understanding of reality.
Then why was the earth created before the sun, moon and stars?
Well then I certainly hope no one interrupts His train of thought! All the universe is, anyway, is a great idea in the mind of God.
