Hey
So to be honest I've never met anyone from CF before, although there are a bunch of you that I would definitely love meeting. But I do know some of you have met other CFers and just wanted to talk a bit about what it was like. How many have you met? Was it awkward? Were you nervous? What all did you do when you met said CFer? Do tell. -gets popcorn in anticipation-

Stephanie. I think I started off very well! Very well.
Actually last week was the third time I saw her. I can tell you now, I don't see her as my online friend, but my friend outside of it. I'm just really sad she is moving back but I know its the best for her. Also, I can't wait until she comes back to visit so I can see her more.
I was nervous for reasons I explained to her about. But after 2 minutes it was gone. Honestly, it was like I knew her for a while, but we never really talked on CF that much so it was refreshing to not get any kind of expectation.
All three times we had lunch and spent the day together.

I've met 4 so far now.

Jess, Mary, Alex and Austin.

Nervous? A little but not much. I tend to get a trait from my mom that helps- we have never met a stranger we couldn't hold a conversation with :smirk:

What did we do? With Jess we had dinner together and just got to talk. With Mary we spent a few hours wandering around and talking. Then I met up with her and Alex together and we went to church then had brunch together. With Austin we had breakfast. Hmmm, I sensing a pattern of food surrounding this....

Anyway, each time it was just about meeting up for a few hours and getting to know the person.

I'm hoping to one day meet up with Erika, she doesn't live that far from me. Well, I consider 6 hours totally do able but maybe others don't. I would LOVE to go to California and meet everyone out there but that is not a realistic dream for this year.

Knowingly zero. This is not going to change :ebil:

I've met people from other forums though, and most of the time it's been amazing because even if you're a nervous creature with a distinct lack of airs and graces you have common ground to talk about. Plus the meet ups have almost always involved Starbucks/some coffee place. When in doubt meet up for a nice drink, it's amazing.

I've met just one. Shinkou and I met this past weekend. I wasn't nervous about it, it was a nice chance to practice speaking Korean. We went for coffee, chatted a lot, and had dinner together before we seperated. It was a very nice day, and we'll be meeting again this weekend.

I've met two... both of which I was a bit nervous.. Moreso because I was going to a whole new country I'd never been to before and had to cross said country to meet both than about meeting either individual.
sadly as I'll be moving away in the summer, I'm unlikely to be meeting anyone else soon unless you're along my route of advance.. which I believe one individual is...

One. I met Gym last summer.

He visited me but didn't arrive till 7pm that day due to problems with the bus so all my plans for that day went to the bin!
We ended up walking around and getting something to eat and the next day he had to leave. But he did come back a week later so we had a proper day out :). No photos of it though.

I was a bit nervous and worried that he would dislike me and that it would be awkward. However, it went well and it was nice to meet him!

4 Persons.

One doesn't count as he introduced me to CF and I already knew him.

Three others - my girlfriend and two other close friends from CF (who met on CF and got married).

I met the two who would marry at their wedding. It was a beautiful and emotional event for me. Thrilling and also helpful. I got to meet a large portion of her family and friends as I helped with the clean up and take down of the setup - people I had heard about but never interacted with and had only seen pictures of. I was also able to (and unwittingly at the time) meet his dad and speak with him, an humble man. Surprising when I found out his relation. I saw how the family operated and I was well pleased and inspired, hoping even to stay with them and learn of them.

Then, I went to California two years later to hang out with my girlfriend and her family for a month. During that time, I stayed with the couple mentioned before for a few days again. Meeting them with my girlfriend and her dad at Olive Garden where we enjoyed a pleasant dinner. What all happened in the meetings with my girlfriend and her family are too many to tell, but adventurous for sure.

Nervous upon meeting? Yes, to varying degrees. Awkward, depends on if you let it become that way or stay that way.

It is a beautiful and incredulous experience - meeting some very dear people to me and being a part of their lives and including them in your own.

Beautiful.

And there are others I will meet someday I'm semi-confident, oddly.

I welcome those opportunities as well.

God is good.

I've met four CFers. The first one I was the most nervous about meeting. I had never met anyone that I had originally known online before and meeting him required getting on a plane for the first time. After that first time, getting on planes and meeting other CFers only causes a low amount of nervousness.

I've met...one who doesn't post here anymore...and Balugon, Alex, Amber, and Kevin.. For some reason I feel like I'm forgetting to mention another CFer I've met, but I don't think so

I guess I was nervous to meet everyone, in different ways and different amounts of nervousness, but it was all quite lovely....

and I would loooooooove to meet soooo many more of you...and I really like Jake's church (well the sermons I've listened to online anyway ^_^) so I'm visiting there in a couple weeks, and most likely will meet him then.

I have met none. BUT I would like to meet up with quite a few CF'ers! Including the following but not limited to: Chad, Jennie, Austin, Vicky, Mary and Shelly. Oh and S_A (even though you are a weirdo) and Joe. And WD..because I was just informed by a reliable source that she lives next to two of the CF listed above. Booyah.

Amber we should totally meet up! 6 hours is a walk in the park. I go home and to Texas frequently and both of those are an 8 hour drive. So I am use to long car rides.

OH! ETA: I would probably be a little nervous but not really. I would be more nervous for them and wondering if the can handle THIS *does a body roll*
