How many books do you have??

I only know that I've had to start improvising when it comes to space. I've recently purchased another set of bookends, and the space between my speakers has also been called into service. I think all the extra cash I've had in the last year has gone to books.

i'm with michabo, i took a slew of my sci-fi books (anyone remember the Choose-your-own-Adventure series?) to the used book store only keeping my favorites. there's still a few hundred scattered over two floor-to-ceiling bookcases and a couple half cases. i need to go through all the computer books and get rid of the obsolete texts, like i'm ever going to use Fortran77 again

Heh, I've still got my F77 texts and to punnish me for this forsight, I had to use it a few years ago! Some wiseguy has made Visual Fortran, so it's not going to die any time soon.

Computer books are a brilliant example of what to put on e-books. Real books take up too much shelf space, are too hard to search, while e-books are none of these and they're always right where you want them: at your computer. Some authors have released e-book versions of their texts (Thinking in Java, for example), and O'Reiley (sp?) has CDs with most of their best used books in HTML format, with hotlinks everywhere. Lovely!

I have no idea. I know I have hundreds. I usually take books out of the library though, especially books that I read for fun.

My husband and I have several hundred books. over 100 of them are religious/spiritual related.
We really love to read pretty much anything we can get our hands on though.

Probably somewhere around 600-700. I keep very little of what I've read though. I'd say I haven't read 95% of what I have. I keep the really good spiritual stuff, but most of the rest I either donate to libraries or re-sell. I don't even want to imagine how many I'd have it I'd kept them all. I'd probably be sleeping on books!

I have a 6 foot book case full of books and starting to stack some up next to it because of limited space. I have all types of books, I am a promiscuous reader

I used to have hundreds, but last week I packed them all up and gave them to charity. Now I'm down to about 40-50. I'm amazed how many my children have accumulated though, about 200-300 and they are only 2 and 6.

Ive only around 40 books because I can't buy all the books I want to. If Ive had all the books Ive ever read my collection could easily be in or near the thousands range. Im just not that rich *sigh*. Im more of a lending library person.

Well, I just went in my room and counted out of curiosity. My room's pretty messy (rearranging stuff) but I counted 140. With everything I have spread around the house and stored places, probably 300+. If you count all the books the my parents own, good Lord.. there are probably at least 2000 in the house.

I am doing my best to collect Bibles and devotions anything and everything Christian. It is hard to find stuff like that amid other secular things.

I have close on 100 fantasy books, around 30 childrens literary/educational books which I started collecting last year as resources for when i teach, and probably another 50 of other stuff. And I only have access to two shelves of a bookshelf.
