  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We both know we want to marry each other in the future, but we both know that it will be after we graduate college in about 3 years. So what do ya'all thank on that? Any advice?

My first question is why did you break up? and yes I do have a very relevant reason...
Well... it's actually a really long story but the main reasons were my grades were not doing too well, my relationship with God was not what it should be, and there was a emphasis on the physical things like kissing etc. We broke up for a month and didn't talk at all except to say hi or something then we started talking again after one month. We both spent a lot of time praying, we talked to both of our parents and we talked about priorities with each other before we finally decided to try again and get back together. We have no been together for two months and things are going so much better!

It is different for each couple. For us, we got engaged three weeks after we met and started dating. However, in retrospect, we haven't gotten married yet, and we've been engaged for almost two years now. Our plan was to marry eight months later, but due to circumstances beyond our control it didn't happen.

My main concern would be sorting the things in this quote out urgently.

my grades were not doing too well, my relationship with God was not what it should be, and there was a emphasis on the physical things like kissing etc.

My mum has brung me up to believe that if you have been with someone and then broken up, don't get back with them, UNLESS things have significantly changed... and that is in your case made ways to help these things whilst in a relationship... Otherwise you are going back to the same problems (I.e. in the bible the way a dog goes back to it vomit a fool goes back to it problems (I think this is what it was....))

Yeah, we definitely worked out a lot we talked a lot out with our parents, my mom helped us think of some ways to concentrate on our schoolwork more. We are both working to put God first in our relationship. Things are a lot better now, I am happy.

Just wonderin...

How many years do you think a couple should be together and/or know each other before getting married?

Just like the old-man strap on diaper - It Depends(tm?) ;)

(Lame joke I know)
