  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

how long did you go to the church before you got baptised.

Baptism is a picture of your death to sin and self, and your new resurrection with the everlasting life given to you by Jesus. It seems to me that you just recently asked Jesus to wash away your sins (ref. another post you made about confessing your sins?) If you repented of your past sin, and asked Jesus to pay for them, then you should be baptized as soon as possible. Not only is this in obedience to Christ's command, it will help you identify your new position in Christ. Read the story in Acts Chapter 8. The eunuch in the story was baptized immediately following his accepting Jesus atonement. Have you talked to your pastor? If you were serious about following Jesus, then you should be baptized ASAP. Let us know how you're doing. :)

I haven't been baptised yet and it will be approximately 12 months or 1 year from now that I will be baptised into the Catholic Church. I will be baptised and confirmed on Easter of next year.

Baptism is in obedience to God. If you truly accept Jesus and then are baptized, why in the world would someone do it again? It is just a "dunk" if you do. I don't believe it means anything and the Bible does not state you should either...after truly accepting Jesus you do it and that's that.

If it is scripturally done correct the first time, it is only by man's traditions that one would do it over again.

Anyhow, some people wait a long time after they accept Jesus. I say to do it as soon as possible. If it is in obedience then you want to do it right away!!!!
