How long is a Baptism?

Why this baptism is not part of the Great Vigil tonight, I don't know.
But, how long do you think it will be.
I think my boss will go with me to see this, but he will want to know how long it is going to be.

IIRC a full Baptism/Chrismation/Liturgy will run 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the Slavic tradition.

If there's a way to make a service more elongated, a prayer more involved, a fast stricter, or a bow done as deeply as possible... Rest assured the Russians will find a way to do it.

Generally speaking the Greeks and Antiochians do things a little quicker.

That should read Excorcsim/Baptism/Christmation/Liturgy. 2 1/2 to 3 hours is right depending on changing time. I had to speed my wife and eldest daughter up in that area a little, IYKWIM.

A Greek baptisi will typically last 45 to 80 minutes.

A baptism/chrismation/first-communion outside of Liturgy will be about one hour. Mine was done in the afternoon, also, outside of vigil. (Except Father did not give me first communion then, he waited until Pascha vigil.)

The fact that it's not during vigil may have to do with the other people who wish to be there--they may be from other parishes or might not be Orthodox at all.
