blindness isn't caused by a gene alone. Neither is deafness; its not that simple.

And no, you have not shown how ancient man could have accepted evolution. ALTHOUGH, in ancient Greek times, they already were thinking of taxonomy, classification, biological stratification, etc. The idea of evolution was percolating, but not yet fully conceived. Yet, you use scripture, which is inherantly all up to your own, and the mass of the world's individuals.

For every person, you have a different interpretation of that scripture.
So no, the Bible is not a reliable science resource.

but, if I'm dead, why would it matter what the temperature is? Our nerve endings only work in life, not in death. Why would temperature matter to someone who can't feel anything? Our souls do not have nerve endings. lol

I don't know what ALL the metaphors mean. I have my own ideas about them. But I'm not about to start saying "You're goin to hell unless you believe in JEsus!" like you're doing. I got way too much time here on earth to be doin all that and wasting my breath with such things.

The fire is in another dimension and not like what we know. Outside of time and space. A physical body as we know it would be a dead weight. Got a Bible? Look up Luke 16:20-25.

It can be, if the interpretation is true, and pertains to something specific. You behave as no one can ever have a correct interpretation.

Quarantine for known infectious disease was mandated in the Bible long before men had a concept of germs.

Got an anatomy book? The Bible mentions nothing of nerve endings, but doctors will tell you that once your brain function ceases, you are inable to feel pain, or suffering, etc. And its ironic that you say dead weight. Because, after death, people ARE nothing but dead weight. lol

You have this notion that in order to be a Christian, one MUST believe in fantastical things which have no support.

Because they thought evil demons caused the disease, not pathogens. They thought interaction with those plagued by demons could spread demonic taint and disease to others; doesn't mean they had any idea that microscopic pathogens were at work.

Actually if you read the Bible you so despise as a ridiculous bunch of poetry, you will see in Leviticus many references to cleanliness of utensils, cooking pottery vs bronze pots, not eating from dead animals etc. Thats hardly demon belief. Read the Bible all the way through, you might be surprised.
Remember Moses was very intelligent having been raised in the house of Pharoah in Egypt, one of the most advanced civilizations of the time, not a desert tribe as one person pointed to earlier. He was schooled in their medical fields, which were hardly accurate. So God inspired him to write the laws of the Torah, which just happen to focus alot on cleanliness, if you read them, you will see that. And you will also realize that Moses had to be inspired, otherwise he never would have written those laws, since the Egyptians had no clue on the matter.

Sure, in Biblical days, many of the rules were hygien related; does this prove God exists? no. It proves they had a good grasp of hygienics, but, remember, in mideval days, the plague was considered to be a demonic possession moreso than a disease by the uneducated lay person. the doctors knew what was going on, but, there were more uneducated laypeople than doctors, of course.

And no. I dont despise the Bible as you uneloquently put it; I despise the people who use it for their own ignorant purposes.

Why not use this instead for your Bible?

It would serve the same purpose you seek.

It would be much more fitting for your thinking...

Then you can begin to be able to really know what you speak about.

I shouldnt pick on you. Public education was not nearly as superior as it is today; your thoughts and ideas are understandable.

But they shouldn't teach ID in public school; THATs for sure.

I only ask you two to reconcile your differences and move on. Joining this Christian site I would have expected to see more unity then this. So sad

But I am here to tell the facts; homo sapiens have been around for as long as 120,000 years. Thats it.

the thing is Christianity has NEVER been unified. Spiritual belief has been one thing that has definatley kept humanity apart. Thats for sure.

And ID should not be taught in public school; thats all I am saying.

Yes; I have parents. They can testify that schools weren't nearly as superior as they are today. Nowadays the cops can't drag you out of te class and arrest you for teaching fact. They used to be able to. (Scopes trial, Tennessee) You can be 12, 30, or 70 to know this.

haha, I agree - THE GREAT APOSTASY is still in effect I see. Apparently the scattered sheep have yet to hear the cry of their one true shephard still - this would explain the myriad churches and sects we see today. The Shephard was slain and the sheep scattered. Bickering has continued until this day.
