Reinstate the Trump era policies and return us to energy independence

1. Which policies?
2. Explain specifically how a certain policy, in the short term, would help lower gasoline prices at the pump.

You have to wait for that answer. Fox news hasn’t come up with the answer yet so Trump supporter can’t answer.

It's already been explained to you that the US has not been "energy independent" since WWII. There was never a day during the Trump administration that the US didn't purchase foreign oil.

This thread began almost a year ago. Gasoline in Texas bounced for a few days last month to $3.29, but has mostly hovered just below $3.00 since May or so.

I gassed up in West Virginia for $2.83 per last week. That is about what I was paying before the pandemic hit. Some people forget that the President doesn't set the price of gas. It is set by OPEC and by the market.

Joe made a number of decisions that imho will result in the increase in gas prices to Obama era levels.

curious as to your opinion.

Gas has been over 6 dollars for some time here in Europe. It is improving our choices in favor or taking a bike, a bus, or a train instead. SUVs suck!

Some forget. Others choose to believe lies.

Biden begins the end of fracking and destroys Keystone and 20,000 jobs. I really miss Trump already!

In short: Most of the estimated jobs were temporary.

The State Department forecasted that no more than 50 jobs, some of which could be located in Canada, would be required to maintain the pipeline. Thirty-five of them would be permanent, while 15 would be temporary contractors.
Fact check: How many jobs lost on Keystone pipeline after Biden order?

"Hey, 20,000 jobs was just an estimate. It's still pretty close, to 50 jobs, right?"

Across the country, Americans may see lower gas prices at the pump in 2022.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Energy and Information Administration projected that retail gasoline prices would average $3.13 per gallon in December before falling to $3.01 per gallon in January.

The EIA expects prices to continue to drop, forecasting the annual, national average to be $2.88 per gallon in 2022.
Gas prices should drop below $3 per gallon in 2022, forecast says

One more of Trump's policies is being reversed by Biden

And it has been showed to you that your information is not accurate.

From Forbes:
Most people view energy independence through the lens of our oil and gas production and consumption. These two sources represent 68% of U.S. energy consumption. When they see our net exports are positive, it is viewed as “energy independence.” When they turn negative, we are once again partially dependent. (In reality, we are always partially dependent, because even when our exports exceed our imports, we are still importing oil from other countries).

It is true that in 2019 our net imports of crude oil and finished products flipped from positive to negative. By that metric, we became energy independent (at last as far as our oil consumption goes). It is also true that Donald Trump was president when this happened for the first time in October 2019.

Even your source says:

(In reality, we are always partially dependent, because even when our exports exceed our imports, we are still importing oil from other countries).

So even your source says that not reality--a fantasy--to claim that the US was truly energy independent.

Even more reality: If the oil we're importing is specifically to refine into gasoline--which it is--then our exports have even less effect on the cost of our gasoline.
