But why can women teach teens and children but not men? What is the reason for that - are men so sensitive that they can't handle female instruction?
Ringo
Yes. That's exactly why. It is one of a thousand ways in which women are expected to alter their behavior in order to assuage and coddle psychological shortcomings of men. Like how men's inability to control their imaginations means women have to change the way they dress, and how men's general laziness when it comes to house work and child care means women have to change the intensity with which they pursue their careers.
Propping you guys up is basically women's half-time unpaid job.
Please show me exactly where it says abortion is muder.
I heard that in the world of Anglicans no women clergy allowed, but gay clergy is ok. I bet that causes a stir in the ranks.
I say, no.
I am a woman, and I don't approve of women becoming the head church pastors, ministers, etc.
I used to approve it years ago with anger and stress, until I realized that what I was doing was useless. It wasn't about power and/or dominance within the church in negative light, although many people seem to see it that way.
We are all equal in God's eyes, but God chose the function of the church symbolically and physically.
A woman can teach children, teens, and other women, but in church, she should not try to teach a man. She can take her husband outside and advise him and ask him to advise others, but she should not be vocal in the church.
What Does It Mean Not to Teach or Have Authority Over Men 1 Timothy 2:11-15 | Bible.org - Worlds Largest Bible Study Site
To whom are you addressing your question?
Jupiter Drops and anyone else who believes that women teaching women/teenagers/children is OK, but teaching men is somehow verboten.

So kids aren't welcome to come to God in your opinion. interesting. i know you will claim that is not what you said but as soon as you claim sunday school is not part of church that is in effect what you are saying. preaching the gospel is everyones job. also remember context. at the time of writing of the bible there was no sunday school. It still does not counter the instruction for women to keep quiet. That would exclude me, then, but in order to to deter any further misunderstanding, I'll answer anyway. Women can indeed teach men. Any layperson can teach a Bible class or Sunday School, for instance. The difference enters in with preaching the Gospel during corporate worship because that is part of the priestly office.

I didn't say that either, but as you've noted already, you don't mind putting words into my mouth if it serves your purpose.but but as soon as you claim sunday school is not part of church that is in effect what you are saying

You're entitled to your own religion. All I was doing was answering the question from the perspective of the historic church and the majority of Christians because the inquirer seemed to want to know what that POV was.at the time of writing of the bible there was no sunday school. It still does not counter the instruction for women to keep quiet.
No, it doesn't exclude you, Albion; the question was for anyone espousing that position.
Great!
So if teaching the gospel is everyone's job, why exclude women?
