  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How important is physical attraction?

I've always read that it was more important for a guy then for a girl...but I'm sure there are many exceptions to that rule. We also learned this in psyc class.

Anyways, I would say there are many other factors much more important. I would say attractiveness accounts towards overall datability as a quiz would to a final grade. Their relationship with God would be the exam.

The first thing that anyone sees is how a person looks. Of course physical attraction is important. For me, it doesn't rank high. There is much more to happiness than making sure your girlfriend is a hottie. It won't matter how pretty she is when you can't stand the sound of her voice anymore. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

It does matter somewhat, but a girl can be only mediocre looking on the outside and absolutely gorgeous on the inside and that will make that girl beautiful in my eyes. I guess what I'm trying to say is that looks do count, but whats inside counts more.

I haven't read all the other respsonses so if I'm repeating anyone - sorry :sorry:

Physical attraction is important but is the be all end all thing for me...

I have known very attractive guys and the more I got to know them the uglier they became and I've known mediocre guys and the more I got to know them the more handsome they became.

There has to be something there that at least sparks my interest to want to get to know the guy but often his physical attractiveness to me changes either for the better or the worse the more I get to know him.

The problem for me comes in with attracting a christian guy that's hot!!!:sigh:

That's actually a 2 way street. Christian girls aren't exactly what men would readily categorize as "hot" looking.

Where are the Jessica Alba's and Halle Berry's of the Christian realm? I haven't seen one yet.

Well, Like most guys, physical attraction is important, and the first thing you notice, but if you don't have the emotional attraction, then the relationship will likely fail, or you wont have much of one. ;)

I don't agree with RBF, I've seen plenty of really HOT christian gals.

Right now, to me, physical attraction is important. I've gone out with a guy who, I didn't exactly consider attractive, BUT he was intellectually stimulating. 3 months later, I started getting the wondering eye.

QTF--if you're not physically attracted to them in the beginning, chances are; unless either or both of you change, you just won't be attracted.

That is the worst stereotype I have ever heard! And hurtful too!

Sheesh. "Christian girls are homely and reserved and can't look "hot" for fear of being labeled "vain"."

Christian girls aren't hot... what a crock...

*huff*

I respectfully disagree with you on this man. There's lots of beautiful christian girls out there. Just click on some of their profiles, you might be pleasantly suprised.
