• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I wanted at first to share my testimony, but i though it will be to long so. I only will say What let me to heal from OCD and panic attacks. I had it for a year ,but to get healed completely it took few years more. Of course first it was help that God came to my life it was biggest transformation. As well If you have panic attack try not to make your self to believe you have some dissease or it will start again. As long as you believe it will happen again it will happen. So just make your self believe you are perfectly normal. I know it sound easy to say, but I had it for few years as well and it dissapeared completely. When i started to say to my self i don't have anything. Sometimes when i go to bed i start to feel a bit like anexy and get thoughs it will happen again so i just turn my self to another side and try to push this thoughs and it dissapears. Don't let this though tell you it will start again ignore them. For OCD when first time i started having i was arguing with devil and responding to his evil thoughs. So don't do that don't respond don't make any contact. If you start respond to any bad thoughs you will get pushed to corner and get even more bad thoughs till it will be impossible to have peace in your mind. Just let them flow and ignore it. By time it will stop.Relaxing music really helped for me to calmdown and imagine i am in some nice place. Try to find some hobby or some activity that will let you forget about your OCD. I hope it will be useful for you. I keep you in my prayers. God bless.

When i am attacked i always say to myself do i trust fear or God? God is always the answer. I just focus on God and know that God is always here for me and will bring me strength.

Isaiah 40:31King James Version (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalms 112:7 - He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

Psalms 28:7 - The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

I have used those verses and still continue to use them, but it can be so hard fighting against unwanted thoughts n feelings that creates anxiety. Presently i am facing a really hard time . Please pray 4 me.

This is an interesting method of healing. Nothing, fancy , no one laid hands on you and what not... I like this testimony because it feels like healing is within my reach.,

So basically ignore everything and brush it off.
