Fauci was just interviewed on Fox and was told that the American people were entitled to know the truth about the vaccines.

'Son, we live in a world that has vaccines and those vaccines have to be injected by men with syringes. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Tucker Carlson? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Trump, and you curse the Democrats. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that the election, while tragic for you, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

You don't want the vaccine because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me as Chief Medical Advisor -- you need me as Chief Medical Advisor.

We use words like "lockdown" "mask," "mandates." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending the health of America. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the protection of the very vaccines that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you put on a mask and get in line. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!'

By flip-flopping do you mean conclusions change as more data is gathered? That’s how science works.

Meanwhile we have over 600,000 dead Americans because his advice was not followed.
Unfortunately a lot of people have a fundamentalist thought process. Either something works 100% of the time or it does not work at all. Either masks totally prevent transmission or they do not work at all. They fail to grasp the slightest of They won't let themselves understand that problems are more complicated than that.

I just try to jigger the odds as much in my favor as the situation allows and requires.

More cracks in the façade as the untouchables weary of having their supremacy questioned by mere mortals.

I can't believe you haven't seen the film...

Never saw many wearing the eye shields as all the health workers do. Eyes are a virus's window to the inner sanctum.
Particularly via fomite transmission, the whole thing that I felt wasn't emphasized as much in not touching your face unnecessarily unless you've sanitized recently. Probably more a safety thing at flu season at schools, if I'd bet money and ask my aunt who's done k-3 or such in her career. Children are petrie dishes as it is and spread germs easier, yet even they don't have this kind of recalcitrant attitude we see in people supposedly matured and meant to be respectful adults.

The experts de-emphasized fomite transmission.
From the start or more recently? I seem to recall some studies suggested in the last few months that the concern is less versus droplet or aerosolized particle transmission.

Just makes me curious about how far we've come in terms of a situation like the HIV/AIDS crisis where around when I was a kid they were starting to convey the ideas in cartoons even about how we understood that HIV/AIDS wasn't transmitted by touch or such, something Princess Diana aided in her treatment of HIV positive people, not buying into the idea of ostracizing them like they were lepers.

Regarding the flu, Australia had just short of a thousand deaths in 2019 (about half of this year's covid deaths). The number of flu deaths this year to date? Zero.

I think that people are getting a little weary of vaccinations. There is a worry that many will skip the next flu vaccine and the flu deaths next year might exceed the covid deaths this year. And once the covid deaths are less than the flu, we'll stop worrying about covid...

Oh yeah, it's totally "wearisome" to worry about someone not dying of rubella or mumps or polio...JFC the entitlement and echo chamber some people live in to not even address the world's problems as long as they're comfortable in their affluent bubble of whitebread "middle class" society

The problem is, at least down here, is that there aren't any reminders sent out to tell you that your yearly flu jab is due. I think a lot of people will either intentionally skip it or forget about it.

I get "reminders" of sorts, but that's because I still get emails from CVS about such things and honestly, people acting like it's such a big deal are the same ones that would say that technology makes things worse when that's hardly the case universally

America potentially could have campaigns in regards to businesses promoting flu shots, I've heard it on the rare occasions I hear the radio to and from work.
