for those of you making comments about the 'mormons,' the real name which is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints really need to do some real research.

Well, they call themselves Mormons as well as members of the LDS church so, maybe, it's not such a big deal that anyone else refers to them as such. You think?

that whole religion is based on following jesus christ, for example, every sunday they have sacrament to remember him and what he did for every person.

The validity of one's claim of being a Christian and whether they follow the teachings of the Lord Jesus is contingent upon whether they actually do. Now, I am fully aware that there is some question amongst Christians as to what are the accurate teachings of Christianity but I know very few, if any, Christians who would refer to Mormonism as Christianity. Being a Christian is quite a bit more than simply claiming to follow Jesus. If I said I was a supporter and follower of the ideals of the CF user "foundation" but expressed a bunch of beliefs that run contrary to the ideals of the CF user "foundation" that would show that, at best, I was merely paying lip service to the idea of being a follower of "foundation."

they absolutely never deny jesus christ, at all -- many of you would know this if you read true information, not false propaganda from other faiths.

For a period of time I personally and consistantly attended an LDS church and studied with Mormon missionaries. During that time, the only thing they didn't deny was their version of Jesus Christ. If, in your eyes, saying that worshipping the Mormon version of Jesus is synonymous with worshipping the Christian revelation of Jesus Christ then, with all due respect, it is you who need to do some research.

so, answer me this simply, if following christ can be labelled as the single*, christian-defining standard, why isn't that religion labelled as christians, instead of bashed by people basing their opinions on information from outside sources.

Well, I was not aware that "following Christ" could be defined in such a pluralistic fashion. What you seem to want to disregard is that "following Christ" has to mean something definitive or else it can mean anything. This would mean that someone could do anything or nothing at all and simply claim the title of Christian and, in your eyes, that would make them a Christian.

* Christian means "follower of Christ" or "little Christ". If you follow Christ, you're a Christian.

so there you have it, the church of jesus christ of latter day saints are christians, if you try to argue this, i guess you also try to argue that the sun is green and that birds can't fly.

LOL! Rather pompous approach to defining Christian views. I fail to see how using your definition, or the definition you accept, as the defining characteristic of Christianity reduces us to such an inescapable conclusion. As I said, to "follow Christ" means something concrete, whether we can accurately define what that is or not. The question here is whether the LDS church's views are in keeping with the teachings of Christ.

i know this because i have gone to a few LDS (more appropriate shorthand name then mormons) sunday meetings, to do real research -- as you people should; i mean, if you wanted to see a ford car and get all the specifications and so on, you would go to ford and not mercedes, wouldn't you ?

By all means, "a few LDS Sunday meetings" must make you an expert. I, too, have attended LDS Sunday meetings and, from my research, have concluded that they, like some other notable, self proclaimed Christian denominations, are not truly Christian, regardless of their claim to the contrary.

God bless
