Miss Firerose,
I'd love to keep up with you, but you obviously have more time than I do. Tell you what, give me a few days, and I'll see if I cannot answer your questions. However, if you really want to know what I think, or rather what the Bible says, then email it to me at moose_pilot@yahoo.com
I'll be happy to reply while I'm away on frequent trips. For the time being I'd need an hour per post!
I mean you well - discussing these topics makes for heartfelt (volatile) conversation. I will tell you that I've checked out the "creedless creed" of this webpage http://www.geocities.com/lib_christian_2000/liberal.htm And it scares the absolute life out of me that people are accepting this in light of the pure faith that Christ taught.
I've got about 100 references, just to start with, that with a clear, simple reading will rapidly dispel 90% of what that site claims.
Christ quoted the OT throughout the Gospels, he held the Jews responsible to know the scriptures. The Bereans "searched the scriptures" to see if what they were being taught was true.
The Bible IS the barometer of truth. Apart from it, we become our own barometer...not good.
Act 17:10 The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Act 17:11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.
Act 17:12 Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.
