How does one move on??

A buddy of mine is very distraught. He is wanting to marry this woman he has been dating for a while. But he tells me," I can't get married and have kids because of what I've done." I asked him why and he said that him and his brother did sexual things when they were children. His therapist says that, since he was molested, he reinacted his abuse on his sibling. He's so confused, and me, looking back into my life, see a comparison with my own story, and I don't know what to do as well. We are both Christians, well I am but I'm not sure about him (even though we have had talks about Jesus). But since I need to know for myself, I want to share this with him as well. So my question is: How does a sexually reactive child/ juvenile offender move on after committing this sin? Can they get married and have kids? Are children that were like us still loved by God? Please, if you can, give me insight so we can take proper steps to heal. Thanks

John 3:16-17, John 5:24, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 8:1.

Now, having understood that one who is saved can never be lost, read Romans 10:8-13. If there is any doubt about salvation, confess Jesus now.

Pray for a true, blessed Christian engagement followed by marriage and children. Ask God daily to remind you (via the Holy Spirit) of who you are in Christ Jesus and your responsibility to God and family.

Of course they can, 1998. What you need to do here is draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you (James 4:8-10). James said these words because his readers were committing egregious sins, not your sins, mind you, but great sins nonetheless which had even more bearing on the entire body of Christ.

His solution was for them to simply humble themselves, and then draw closer to God. Begin spending time in His word. James also said this (James 1:5-8). This means that no matter what you have done, or what position you think you hold in the eyes of God, set aside all doubts of His love for you because "He gives wisdom to all men liberally, and does not bring reproach."

The closer you draw to Him and experience Him beginning to become your Teacher, the more this confirms to you His love for you in spite of what you have done. This builds your confidence that you are truly beloved by Him, and that confidence opens the door to your receiving all the promises of God He has for you, in your future marriage, family, and happiness.

I want to give you some statistics. It is estimated that 1 in four children are sexually abused. Most sexual abuse victims do not go on to abuse children when they are grown.

If a child abused another child because of being abused- well, a child is not completely aware of what he is doing. He is only acting out what he has been taught. God does not hold a child responsible for his sins. Please do not feel guilty about this anymore. It is NEVER the children's fault, NEVER. Even when a child abuses another, it is neither one of the children's faults.

As a matter of fact, you and your friend might actually make better fathers because you are aware of what evil adults can do to children and can be on the lookout and protect your little ones.
