Hi, I try to forgive people, but sometimes my mind wonders back to the past and I remember painful things, words or deeds that other people have done to hurt me. I know they are petty little things, I must forgive and forget, forgetting is the problem. It is my emotions that bother me. I must control my emotions, or ask the Lord to control them for me. I need to forgive permanently. I probably need to pray more and read the word more.

Try shifting focus on yourself to others, eg, volunteering to help the homeless.
