hum....so now, saying that you just repeated what I said is rude...interesting, I think we must have a definition problem on this thread.
Let me share a story with you all about what is and is not rude.
I have a family member who for 20+ years was a male. this last year he identified himself as transgender and asked to be called by female pronouns. We obliged. In one conversation I had with "his/her" fiance, I forgot and started out with her and she then missed one and said he. I was accused of being horrible, abusive, rude, disrespectful, and otherwise a nasty individual because I forgot one time after 20 + years of conditioning.
I attempted to explain that it was not intentional, that it was just a slip after 20+ years of using one pronoun and I simply made an honest mistake, I apologize. and the insults flared again and got more vial.
Here is the point. Just because someone acts badly to you does not give them the right to act badly in return, but not everyone someone claims is rude really is rude at all. You all are upset because I called you out on bad behavior, I get that, but believer or not, that does not mean I was rude. You see, rude behavior is not considered rude because someone doesn't like what you said or did. IOW"s forgetting one time to use a different pronoun after over 20 years is not rude just because someone was offended. Rude behavior goes much deeper than that.

actually, what I said when using those words had nothing to do with individuals as I was previously accused of nor of opinions and ideas. The words were used to describe arguments that were totally out of control and didn't even have anything to do with what was actually being said. So let's review, I am rude for saying, duh, that is what I just said, but you are not being rude for making false accusations of what I said and then repeatedly trying to paint a false picture of me and what I said. Interesting, let's look at what Websters says rude is, shall we? not having or showing concern or respect for the rights and feelings of other people : not politeDo you mean that you have a definition of rude that doesn't involve calling people's ideas "stupid" and "insane", and responding to things with "duh"?
And again, do you think you're being a good steward of Christianity by using this type of language?
unfortunately is does. I was accused of being rude for saying, duh, that is what I just said. As well, I was accused of being rude for saying something I did not say nor would I ever say. I totally respect people and their opinions and have repeatedly demonstrated that only to be falsely accused and those false accusations being used to prove that I am being "rude"...that is exactly like the story I presented. And it is something I object strongly to. I am sure there have been moments on here where I have not been as kind as I should have been, in fact, I can think of a couple, but they are not the imaginary things you are parading around here trying to make a case of. So at least if you want to make the claim, pull something out that is not your imagination rather than just making up non sense and attributing it to me.This story has nothing to do with your behavior on this site.

as I said then and I say now, there are certain arguments that are just stupid and insane to continue. That is what I said was insane and stupid, not the idea, the opinion, or the poster. Why is that so offensive to you.So you deny calling poster's ideas "stupid" and "insane"? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one around here that remembers that. Just remember that around here your ideas about what's rude and not rude matter little. It's all up to the moderators to decide.
whatever, I said nothing that should have been offensive in any way if put into the context of what I said. What you do with that is your business. Telling my husband that it is insane to argue over the color of the bowl is not rude or disrespectful in any way I know of....As per the forum guidelines:
"Christians should hold themselves to a higher standard given that this is a Christian site. Non Christians, lurkers, the weak of faith, etc. are reading your posts which means that the impression you give is what they see."
I know I stay away from using "stupid" and "insane" in my posts.

doesn't sound like much love and respect to me if you can't agree that that is a stupid thing to argue over. Just saying, I love and respect my husband enough to confess such things to him, it makes both of us better people to do so. If you don't love your wife enough to confess stupid arguments, you are saying you don't love her and respect her enough to work together to become better people, which is your right, but personally I find that a very sad thing, and not love or respect at all.Hmmm, it's not anything that I'd ever say to my wife. I love and respect her too much to do such a thing.

lol I just asked both my husband and son if it was offensive or rude to say "this argument is insane or stupid" they both agreed that to make that claim was simply someone trying to be offended at nothing at all.Putting words in my mouth again I see.
I didn't say that I wouldn't try and dissuade a particular discussion, I said I wouldn't say those words to her. Personally, using the words "stupid" and "insane" in any context where you don't need to use those words (which is pretty much always) is offensive to the person you're saying them to. I'm just not the kind of person who's inherently rude. I'm sure if you asked my wife, she'd say the same thing about the use of language.
So, I wouldn't feel so sad for me, since I and my wife both know that I love and respect her. But thanks for the insult anyway...

As to your claim that you are by nature someone who is not rude, your posts clearly testify otherwise.
But then again, we are off topic again aren't we? I ask you to show me a better way and you refuse only to try to issue personal attacks against my character by inflating things that into things that didn't happen then when called out on it, get offended and start all over again. I realize from your above post that you all think you are above the forum rules and that is part of the problem, but you really aren't and it is not Love at all to allow you to continue to think that you can do and say whatever you want without being held accountable.
lolI just asked my wife and several of my co-workers, and they all agreed that saying anything is "insane" or "stupid" is rude. Perhaps it's just that you come from some kind of place where that kind of language is acceptable. Again, it doesn't matter what we think is rude on these boards. It's all up to the moderators.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree, since I feel the same way about you.
Point to a post where I've refused to show you a better way please.
what exactly did you ask? How a question is asked has a lot to do with the answer as shown in my last post. So how you asked is important to the discussion.I just asked...........
But alas, I'm betting you didn't ask your wife or co workers about the words in context of the discussion did you?
how odd....I just did a web search to try to get to the bottom of this and found many people use the word stupid and it is not taken as offensive even when using it to describe people who are behaving in a stupid manner not just the argument that is being engaged in like I did....I'll look up insane too...when I look up the same for insane, as this is an insane argument for us to have, I get crazy as a preferred word...so you are trying to tell me that if I said stupid, as I did and you are upset about, it would not be rude even though you said it was, or if I said, that argument was crazy, that would be okay, but if I say that argument is insane it is offensive and if I say that argument is stupid even though the internet primarily sees it as okay, it's rude because you say it is?I did actually. I even showed my wife the exact posts. They still think it's rude. I just come from an area where we don't use that kind of language unless we're trying to be rude. It's just a very polite place here.
