Specifically how would know if it's Satan mimicking God's voice? I mean think about it, Satan is this unfathomably ancient being that God calls the, "wisest of the beasts of the fields" or something to that effect in Genesis. He used to be in the throne room of God; he's talked to God more than any of us and knows what he sounds like. Some people use that famous meme of God's voice calming us, leading us, encouraging us, reassuring us, and the like while the devil's voice obsesses us, condemns us, worries us, causing fear and the like but to me, that's just saying that the devil is a moron and severely underrating his intelligence. If I were the devil I wouldn't use such negative emotions as my only arsenal of deceiving the faithful. I'd use honey and not vinegar. I would calm someone when they shouldn't be calm, I would lead people in the wrong direction, I would encourage someone to believe a falsehood, I would reassure him of that falsehood, I would promise him the sun, the moon, and the stars and make like those promises come from the creator himself and when everything falls through and the promises do not come forth the man would be crushed and he would doubt he ever heard from God in the first place.
This is what I am afraid might be happening to me. I have been promised (metaphorically) the sun, moon, and stars and if the promise fails it puts doubt on if I've ever heard God in the first place. The promises are not important; keeping my assurance in my relationship with God is what's most important here. If I'm not hearing from God, I am truly lost in life.
Beloved one, if you want to hear from God, hear what Jesus Christ have said.
This is what we have heard Jesus Christ Himself said:
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all.
The words that I have spoken to you are SPIRIT and life. -John 6:63
Beloved one, you are not hearing from God because you have not perceived
the words that Christ have spoken are Spirit and life.
Beloved one, consider again what Jesus Christ Himself have said to a Samaritan woman who considered Samaritan have no dealing with Jews and asked Jesus how to commune with God ; Jesus said:
“
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.””
John 4:24 NKJV
So beloved one, unless you perceive as Jesus said that God is Spirit, you can’t commune who commune God who is Spirit. The only way you can commune with God who is Spirit to commune with Him in spirit and truth.
Since the words that Christ have spoken are Spirit, you can only commune to God the Father through the Spirit of Christ, that is, through His words. Likewise, you also may have heard:
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and
the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. -John 14:6
So unless you are in the truth or united in Christ, you can’t commune with God.
So to commune with God, you have to have the words that Christ have spoken in your heart and to be in truth, you have to know who you are in Christ.
What is it important to have the words that Christ have spoken in our hearts? This is what we have heard:
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. -Hebrews 4:12
When you have the word of God in your heart and mind, you can then perceive the division of soul and spirit. That is the soul is where your mind, emotion and will reside. And the spirit is where your heart, conscience is and communion happens. For the soul and spirit is like of joint and of marrow; tightly knitted together. Only through the living active word of God, you can discern your thought that is in your mind and the intention that is in the heart. When you have abundance of God’s word is in your heart and mind, you can perceive what you think and desire whether they are of God whether they are of Satan.
For God is working through His Spirit of His word but Satan is working through the flesh.
Beloved one, if your heart condemned you, consider that God is greater than your heart
and knows everything.
For we heard:
for whenever our heart condemns us,
God is greater than our heart, and He knows everything. -1 John 3:20
So beloved one, don’t put your trust in your heart of stone, put your trust in whom God sent, His Son Jesus Christ and He will give you a new heart; a heart in union with Christ that doesn’t condemn you and that gives you confidence before God.
Beloved one, in order not to be lost, you need to have zeal of God according to the knowledge of God. For this is what we have heard:
Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. -Romans 10:1
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. -Romans 10:2
For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. -Romans 10:3
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. -Romans 10:4
So beloved one, don’t be ignorant of God’s righteousness, don’t seek to establish your own righteousness and submit yourself to God’s righteousness. And believe Christ is the end of the law of sin and death for righteousness of God.
What is the righteousness of God ? This is what we have heard:
For I am not ashamed of
the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." -Romans 1:17
So the righteousness of God is in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What is it important to have the righteousness of God ? This is what we have heard:
“Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those
who have obtained like PRECIOUS FAITH with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:”
II Peter 1:1 NKJV
So beloved one, submit yourself daily to God’s righteousness and obtain precious faith that you may draw near to God.
For we heard:
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. -Hebrews 11:6
Beloved one, consider what the Lord God has been spoken:
You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. -Jeremiah 29:13
Beloved one, seek the Lord wholeheartedly, and be found in the joy of the Lord.
To God be all glory. Amen
