  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you join the Salvation Army?

I volunteer 4 or 5 times a year at the Salvation Army but I never knew you could "join". I've been Methodist all of my life, but I have been having trouble finding a Methodist chuch where I feel truly welcomed. I love spending time at the Salvation Army, and any information would be wonderful.........

The Salvation Army is a church like any other, which means you are welcome to come along and worship with us, whether you are a 'member' or not.

If you worship at the Army and feel that this is where God wants you to be, then you can talk to the officer(s) about becoming either an adherent (a non uniform wearing member) or a soldier (uniformed).

But as a first step, get along to the Army for worship, pray it through, and see where God leads.
