How do you feel about your weight?

What impact do you think your weight has on your relationships?

  • None at all. It doesn't matter.

  • I think it might narrow my options a bit. But I don't mind.

  • I'm worried my weight puts others off. I'm trying to lose some.

  • I'm a babe/spunk, so this is irrelevant!

  • No idea: I'll just wait to see what others vote for.

In our society being overweight can be harsh, but being percieved as too skinny can be harsh too. I think I'm a nice, normal , healthy weight. I'm thin, but not too thin, I can eat a lot but don't gain a lot. But in the community I live i'm an oddity (adding to all my other odd features). Obese is the norm for here. A lady at my church asked me outright if I had an eating disorder, and it was somehow not rude b/c I was a skinny girl. I f I ask an obese person if they have an eating problem (which I would NEVER EVER do) it would be very rude and i'd probably be cussed out. I think people need to find what is healthy for them and be that. My weight did detour me from joining a certian gym here that is for women only. I went once on a guest pass a couple of years ago and i got a lot of hater comments b/c I wasn't overweight and i was working out. NEVER AGAIN- I'm really glad there is a place for overweight women to feel comfortable working out and getting fit , but they shouldn't hate on others that want to stay fit too.

Don't worry honey you look great.

Its funny cause I try to maintain a certain weight range and when I go over that range I go on mini-diets that never last more then a month just to lose a few pounds. (I've never needed to lose more then 10 pounds at a time). Basically I figure its easier to just pick up on it early and drop 10 pounds then it would be to wake up and find myself at 250 pounds and have to lose 70.

But anytime I mention diet my mom who's nearly 400 pounds thinks I've got an eating disorder. And I'll tell her I'm only losing a few pounds and it still freaks her out.

Now I do realize that I'm blest with a good metabolism but because of the problems the weight has caused my mother's health I've vowed that I don't want to ever weigh more then 200 pounds. Hopefully it won't take that but I'd rather just not eat then be overweight.

My weight has helped me. I am not overweight, but I am definetely not skinny either. I have curves, lol. But there are some people that seem to like curves. ;)

Ill say :D As for me, I am a fairly muscular 215 at 6'1, and it works in my favor. Unfair advantage? Heck no. I worked my tail off for this, dropping 80 lbs and beating a lifetime of weight issues in the process. I expect to have an advantage when all is said and done.

The topic of body shape keeps coming up in various threads, so, how much do you think your weight will play a part in your relationships, if at all?

Anyway, see poll :)
I am sure I am losing options with some of the women around here. Ultimately that is fine with me because tells me about their character.

Right now having some extra pounds is a fact of life. I try not to let that hold me back at all. One day when I am not living on very tight budget and have extra time. I would love to learn how to cook healthier and I am debating taking Karate or signing up for a gym. When I do find that special someone, I want make sure my weight/shape is not in the way from making her feel good. ;)

I think our physical appearance not only has an effect on the romatic relationships with we have and on our own self image...thus I think it's important to strive to look/be your best

...I want to be at least 20lb - 25lbs lighter...

I still have 5 pounds to shed to be at my ideal weight for my height.

But the thing is, I am at an age that is hard to get rid of already, though I am exercising as much as thrice a week.

For a relationship, it could be good so you wouldn't go sick on your partner and will be able to do more together, outdoor activities, etc.

Imagine, just walking with your partner and you go panting after 5 minutes.

God bless!!!

Lol, yeah. I used to HATE being curvy, I wanted to be a stick. But I've learned to appreciate them, and my guy likes them.

I voted for "I think it might narrow my options a bit. But I don't mind." I'm losing weight for health reasons (about halfway to my goal), but I'm cool with where I am now.

My guy thinks I'm beautiful as I am. I'm very blessed in that respect. I'm glad that we got together when we did, because even when I'm down to my "babe weight" (ha ha), I will know that what I weigh isn't what makes him attracted to me.
