How do you feel about your weight?

What impact do you think your weight has on your relationships?

  • None at all. It doesn't matter.

  • I think it might narrow my options a bit. But I don't mind.

  • I'm worried my weight puts others off. I'm trying to lose some.

  • I'm a babe/spunk, so this is irrelevant!

  • No idea: I'll just wait to see what others vote for.

Um, I'd like to lose some of the weight that I gained while on birth control while I was living in sin. And so far I'm doing good. Once I get back to MY comfortable weight, I'll feel better about myself. But I know that no matter what, Jesus loves me and my future husband is going to love me, or he wouldn't have married me.

Oh, yes, and I voted "I don't know".

I personally don't care about weight, but after seeing what some guys have posted, it seems that a lot of guys do.

I'm just an average weight, but I'm not a stick by any means. So I'm unsure whether guys would think I'm fat or not.

If you're an average weight, or even slightly overweight, then you are not fat. Guys are visual. They can't help it. Some don't mind girls who are big, some prefer it. I know that the right guy will come along that will love you and your body exactly the way it is.

I'm not thin at all (see the bottom pics in my profile). But I haven't really had any problems finding guys, and I've learned it's about confidence and your personality. Guys love a confident woman.

I'm slender and personally like my body shape and weight. I don't think that many guys are all that attracted to me b/c of that though. Guys don't seem that attracted to me at all  I read on here and hear from guys irl that they like slender girls and that's attractive, but that's not what I see in the real world.

I've noticed some overweight people have really bad personalities. Like they just didn't care anymore what people thought of them. Carnie Wilson was the worst I've ever seen when she was overweight.

No offense to nice people. I know there are just as many nice and kind-hearted overweight people.

I think weight is an issue when it becomes a part of your personality.
If you're skinny and become vain, obsessed with your figure, and constantly conscious of your looks that's a major problem. If you're plus sized, and it impacts your personality negatively that's equally problematical.

I guess it's tougher to be plus sized in today's society. I don't think weight impacts relationships as much as it does other things: especially job interviews. Over here they carried out several extensive studies and apart from being old, the worst thing you could be when going to a job interview was plus sized. It was more of a handicap than being disabled, north-african, black or a mother....
The best you could be to have a chance was a 25-30 year old white male.
I myself have to confess I've noticed at job interviews that those of us that get to the final interview are invariably young, thin and white (my profession is mostly feminine) I feel guilty for having an unfair advantage, although i'll soon enough be old and that ill e cancelled out!

Man my stomach is too chubby, after being injured from cycling, and continuing to eat amazingly unhealthily!!

But the rest of me is fit (legs are all muscle etc) but my arms havent got any muscle left after i had to stop working them out for a bborken collar bone

but yeah, i dont think my weight makes a big dif, or that fitness really helps get girls in my case, more a bad thing because im so into cycling :S it uses up a bit of time training :S

But yeah ive read a couple of points of view, and i agree that when its an issue for the person, in too much of an extent that can really suck!!
(though the fact that i care about my weight means i dont mind a certain amount of it) But yeah i like bigger girls just as much as thinner girls for different reasons, so alot of the time im happier with bigger girls any way.

I think my weight is more of an issue for me than for others, so it does affect my self image and confidence, so yes it makes a difference.

I still need to peel about 10. Need to lose the extra fat I picked up lifting/eating all winter. I got up to 215, some muscle, mostly added fat though. Down to 207 now and I'll get back on the weights when I'm under 200 again.

I'm not all that overweight, I just know I'm capable of better.

I don't know.... See here's the thing I said I'm a babe so it's irrelevant - now honestly I myself wouldn't use the word babe but... I'm not at all bad looking and I think I'm a healthy weight I honestly like myself the way I am....... however in saying that I have been told before that I am fat (my response wasn't exactly um Christian lol) but I have never had a guy tell me that! I think that the girls tend to judge me more then the guys do! The other thing is that I have a friend who is underweight - not anorexic or bulimic or anything - she just can't put on weight (she eats like a horse it's ridiculous) she hates going clothes shopping because of this and she feels ugly and she says that guys aren't attracted to her because of it. She also hates going to the beach because she has people come up to her and ask her if she has anorexia or bulimia and she's like they're asking me if I have a mental disorder! So you know there is a flip side to the coin.

I feel just fine about my weight. But unfortunately others don't share my view. I am trying to lose weight. Not for health reasons though; every doctor I've went to said that I'm as healthy as a horse. I just want to be accepted and treated like a human being by others.

I'm 6'1" roughly 180 (usually between 175 and 185)

I personally think my weight is fine and I don't worry a heck of a lot about weight in girls. Thinner girls are usually more attractive yes, but if you have some weight on you that doesn't make you so unattractive that I disqualify them. Unless it gets excessive.
