I think warfare is better left to trained soldiers.
There's truth in the sentiment, but you're also barred from acting according to your own conscience. You have to admit, there's much more liberty in volunteer work than state-sponsored warfare. If I ever went to fight the good fight, it wouldn't be as a thug of the state, but only for the righteous cause itself.

I was thinking about going!!!!!

If you join "the forces," I think it should mainly be because: 1) it seems to be a suitable occupation, and 2) you hold the value that defending the people of your own nation is a noble cause. But, to simply go so that Islamic terrorists and other radicals can be shot isn't a good motive. There have been these kinds of people in the world for many centuries and they will likely still be here tomorrow and the next day, and the next day after that. Your imposed presence over there to supposedly "stop" them will just be another drop in the ocean. So, if you're going to go, make sure it's for the right reasons.

Peace,
