Yep, I definitely bought a pint of Ben and Jerry's more than a few times when I was having bad days in San Francisco, especially half baked. But, I won't bring the small container of icecream like that into my house anymore, because it is way to hard to stop at just one serving when the container looks like one serving instead of four. Plus, Aaron has me hooked on BlueBell so I'm craving that instead :)

I complain. A lot. I try not to, but honestly, just telling people about how horrible my day is helps me finding it less horrible. That and a good book, some movies and something terribly unhealthy to eat.

Alternatively... and I know this is going to sound weird... but I start cleaning or reorganising a closet. I don't know why, but cleaning and reorganising things help me when in a bad mood. It may not change the events of the day, but it often helps how I feel about it.

I tend to run over the neighbors cat or or go and switch license plates on neighborhood cars at night. It lets off a lot of steam and i feel like the whole day wasn't in vain...
No. Seriously, I get a movie i'm sure will be funny and have a small glass of wine and enjoy it with my wife who is a saint for living with me. I realize good days are the exception and plow through the rest.

My bad days are generally work related. Once i catch myself in a slump, I remind myself that no matter how frustrated I get, I don't get paid anything extra for it.

Heck, I don't get paid enough to get mad.

Then I I remind myself that I have a choice in my interactions with others to either be a miracle or a nightmare in their lives and that a frustrated atitude (for me) generaly means very negative interactions with my co-workers. That is when I decide to go out of my way and put my own tasks aside to help someone else and act postive, despite myself, while doing it. Once I get back to my own responsibilities, the world seems less complicated, my problems smaller, and the day a lot brighter.

That is what turns the day around for me.
