  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I date like any normal 27 year old adult should/would.

what are your rules?

Me?

I don't really have any concrete rules, I like to be flexible since every woman's different. The one rule I have is I pay for everything unless she asks to go dutch.

If you give me some examples of what you're curious about I might be able to answer.

what are your rules?

She has to be christian, in actions not just in name as many MANY people say they are christian (and believe it) when they are not. Nothing beyond kissing, nothing I would be ashamed to tell to my future wife, and it can't look like sin (ex: spending the night at her house, even if I'm sleeping on the couch or something).

I want to treat her as a sister in Christ first, romantic interest second.

Firstly, don't get any ideas into your head that you're committing some sort of sin by feeling attraction for someone. God wants you to feel attraction - it's not only a perfectly natural part of life, it's also an essential part of life - I'm just putting this out there.

Get talking to a guy - (talk to him about literally anything) and search for some common ground. If you both hit it off, then you're in a good, strong position for a date. If you're feeling daring, say to him that you're free at some point >insert day and time here< and say that you'd like to continue the discussion over a drink, when you have more free time.

When on the date, just talk to him like you would any of your other friends. Just get into a good conversation, and act coy here and there, to drop him a little hint that you're attracted to him.

If he engages back, smiles, and asks you lots of questions, then you're doing something right.

*Edit; for me personally, I don't date. I'm far too lazy for that. It's a pain in the backside, and not worth the effort. But hey, don't let my cynical side stop you.

I think I date like a normal 22 year-old Christian man. All of my college dating relationships I met through mutual friends or in class. The first is usually something casual like coffee or ice cream, I'll buy. The second is an actual meal together and then maybe something we'll do together.

but, you guys are in the singles forum. So, have you just not met "the one" or what? I guess I've never met a woman of that calibre so I wouldn't know it when it hits me. So what's your guys' reason for being single?

edit: I really dont mean it in a condescending way. I've dated girls in my past but never dated as a serious Christian. so, similar questions to the OP. seems tough to find a Godly spouse

I'm 22 and still in college, I don't want to get married until I'm in my mid-20s. My plan is after moving to Colorado in January is joining Match.com and doing other things to start seriously looking for a spouse instead of just dating like I have been college.

^ The most amazing people come into your life once you stop looking. At least I think so...

I did meet an amazing girl, we would be dating but agreed not to because she still has another year after this year and didn't want to do long distance.
