How do you communicate with God?...

I pray - almost without ceasing most days. It's like I have a running dialogue with God. Sometimes, I talk to Him out loud, too. I'm sure people around me think I'm nutso when I forget myself and do it in public.

praying mostly. lot of different ways things come to me in different ways, came to the conclusion years ago no matter where things are comming from, Im praying that God will be in it, yep no matter what,,, I'm telling Father.

Of course prayer, but my specific coneection comes through music which I feel involves prayer. I often sing many of my prayers to God as well as just connect with him through praising Him with song. I hear it all day long. It overflows out of my heart and when that music stops I know something is going on. Also, often God ministers to me through music. Sometimes a song just comes on the radio that soothes my spirit when I need comfort.

just like hes reaching right out to you? one time in church is was like I was dancing with him, no nothing fast, no nothing weird, then a few testified the same thing happened to them. when I was at a low , went to work , first song was , put on your shoes and press on.heh, was mowing the lawn one time, thinking of a cecular song asked God if it was better not to. the mower broke almost at that very instant, so I started singing , there is a mountain Ill cross over. hes used other people to tell me things that I would have no need to hear or really care about, till three days later when the information proved very usefull directly in my life. dreams, visions. a very personal relationship. and all dosnt happen all the time, usually when I really need it for myself or Ill be talking to somebody that needs it.

Yep. I've felt that feeling of dancing with Christ before. It is an amazing feeling of being gathered in His arms and just . . .it's amazing.

The only way I have to communicate to God is prayer of course.

Now God can communicate to me through a lot more ways.

I pray, I talk to him, my boys and I pray together every night...even things as simple as my youngest praying nobody has stinky armpits the next day We pray for our family, friends, teachers, leaders, pets, for good days at school, that God blesses my job, our finances, for the home we are trying to buy, etc.I also find that my car has always been a great place for me to connect with God, it's quiet, I'm alone and I can play some worship music or just be in silence and talk to Him.

But I pray alot. I also contemplate God alot. There are lots of ways to get closer to God. Service is another way. Each of us is wired a little different, so there are different choices for getting closer to God.

Wow I think you are right. I believe God speaks to me in many different ways also. For example, I want you guys or anybody to tell me if you believe this was God speaking to me. Last week one night, when I was going to work, I got into my car and started my car and turned on my car radio. I usually have my car radio preset on one christian radio station on the AM dial and on two secular soft music station on the FM dial (101.3 fm) in Virginia to be exact. Well on this secular soft music station 101.3 fm, a soft music was just finishing up. And the DJ lady of this soft secular music station all of a sudden started saying, GOD LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY. HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH. HE IS NOT TRYING TO JUDGE YOU BUT HE JUST WANTS YOU TO COME TO HIM. HE LOVES YOU SO SO MUCH. DON'T EVER BE DIS-HEARTENED BECAUSE GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH AND HE LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY. I was shocked I couldn't believe what I was hearing because this woman is a secular dj and this is a secular soft music station for soft rock music and they would never talk about anything to do with God and church. If they do, this is a first. I have never heard of any secular station talking about God like that to encourage us. But in anycase, I guess God can use anything or any person. If he can use a donkey, why not a secular dj? But I was going through alot at that time and feeling unloved

1. So I just wanted you guys to tell me if you believe that was God speaking to me and can God speak like that through a secular dj on the radio?

2. Do you think this dj knew what she was saying about God loving me unconditionally OR do you believe the dj was really saying something else pertaining to the station, but god made me hear what I needed to hear?

I disagree, it seems pretty clear to me that the ways that God desires everyone to get close to him are through the word and the sacraments.

Prayer is also an important way.

I see it kind of like this . . .

Word - We listen to God

Sacraments - We hug God, (become physically and spritiually closer to him. As close as we can in our human life)

Prayer - We talk to God (God may speak back)

Service - We try to become like God.

I absolutely believe God was speaking to you and he can absolutely do it through a secular D.J. There is a story in the old testament where God makes a donkey speak to a man, so yes 100% possible. I don't quite understand your second question, but I believe that God is almighty and can orchestrate all the events in the universe at once, so I believe that whether this D.J. was aware or not of who God was using this word for that it does not detract from the fact that God was speaking to you through her.

in the first question, how many people do you think have secular jobs and love jesus. the job I had could have been called secular by the way some acted and the product we sold didnt have the word of God written all over it. how bout those people who have jobs that are just about border line, without defiling the temple, who are there ministering, maybe just a little at a time and praying for coworkers and the owners, and all. some in the bible were in the midst of ,,things, and showed gods wisdom, making some of theyre (bosses ) to say hmmm, this persons God has something going on.

the second sounds like you think the dj may have been jabbing the bosses, doing something they may have been told not to do. many of times has somebody quoted scripture and it edified me , no matter how they give it, it is the way I recieved it, it being scripture from God. unconditionally, through the years I believe we walk away more from him , then he would ever do to us. im not that good at explaining unconditianally, a parent who tranes theyre kids for the kids sake may be able to explain it more, love them dearly, teach them , with the rod if necessary. my mom used a belt.
