The fact remains that the human race crucified God the Son, even if God foresaw it as a necessary part of creating the human race.

As far as that goes He also foresaw all the other things we would do, and allowed them to happen. But we'll answer for them. It has to do with free will.

It wasn't a "necessary part of creating the human race".
God knew that we would sin and had provided a Saviour before it even happened, Genesis 3:15. It was God's will that Jesus would die for our sin. Jesus said that no one was taking his life from him; he had the authority to lay it down and the authority to take it back again, John 10:18.

Are you saying that even though the cross was how God showed his love for us, 1 John 3:16, even though it was prophesied in the OT, Isaiah 53:5, even though Jesus laid down his life for us and took our punishment so that we could be forgiven and reconciled to God, that one day, we will be punished for that?
Rather makes a mockery of the cross, doesn't it?

Those who don't recognise what God did on the cross will be punished for it.

Revelation 6:16 NIV "They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!"

Those who don't recognise what Jesus did, or those who knew but wilfully chose to reject?
There is a difference.

Luke 12:47:48 NIV

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

Even if they're ignorant they're still judged and punished but less harshly.
