( John 4:23) True worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth."
In many Christian circles today, the priority of worship has been neglected. The church has two basic functions; first to worship, second to witness.
It is to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, before it declares to others "the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:5-9) Unfortunately; worship for many means a few hymns and prayers arranged in some pattern. True worshipers worship the Father in Spirit and truth. It is not what we say or sing; it is how we say and sing it. It must be from the heart. True worship should have communication between Spirit and spirit, so that the Father is worshipped in spirit as well as truth. Not spirit alone, for that could be purely emotional; not truth alone for that could be purely intellectual.
"But all my inmost being should praise his holy name." (Psalm 103:1)
