No... I don't think ANY form of medical intervention should be mandatory. However, in this case, I think it would make abortion virtually a thing of the past, even without it's being mandatory.

The explosions of STD's should shake you and awake you from the culture of permissiveness that is literally killing our youth population. It is plain to see that the promotion of "safe'sex"attached to promiscuity is one of the most wrong things mankind has yet inflicted upon itself.

What about "change" the Left chanted about during the coronation of King and Queen Obama?

The promotion of "safe sex" has done nothing but cause the rise of deadly diseases caused by promiscuity.

Interesting, I leaned for Mrs. Clinton. Too bad she was bashed out of picture. She now serves a place.

To address the OP, Mr. Obama has taken the stand that abortion is birth control at any age of the unborn child. If Mr. and Mrs. Obama were to speak out on virginity as an honorable condition for the pure success of both a woman and a man, abortions would be reduced as the result.

Now, as much as I find messiah Barack distatsteful, I hold that Mrs. Obama has a chance to really change a culture steeped in celebrating promiscuity, abortion as birth control, and "daddy and momma baby" as cultural icons.

But alas . . .

Just a quick point: The terms "left" and "right" are purely economic terms. You can be a right-wing liberal or a right-wing authoritarian. It would be nice if people stopped lumping people with "Welfare State" economic leanings in with anarchists and hippies.

That wouldn't be 'pop culture' though, it would be something entirely new. The trick is how to make virginity, chastity and "modesty" attractive enough to override the natural human sex drive and instinct to mate. So far nobody has found a way to do that, even though some people have been trying since the beginning of time.

Face it, we are human animals. Nothing more.

The big problem with abortion, frankly, comes well before the abortion. Abortion levels in this country are a direct result of sexual immorality and poverty combined.....

Sexual immorality is often a matter of opinion.

Id say that abortions occure primaryly due to poor sex education and the lack of protection. A large human population as well is to blame.

Frankly put, fewer humans, fewer abortions.

Better planned familes, fewer abortions.

Better sex education, fewer abortions.
