How do we know that the earth is a rotating globe ?

For one we know from scripture;

14And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years. 15And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so.

Easily - we can observe the sunsets or sunrises every day. At least we who have the windows in the right direction, the rest must go outside.

I've held off replying to the many threads and posts on this subject, but I guess I've reached my limit.

My background is communication engineering. I've done the math for how phone signals travel to satellites and back (and it matched reality). I've spent time in satellite control centers, watching engineers monitor and control communications (and other kinds of) satellites. I've spent many hours with other engineers discussing details of satellite orbits, coverage, potential interference with other satellites and many other related topics. I've watched the company I was involved with spend 10s of millions to fly and maintain their satellites.

All of this only works if the earth is a rotating globe.

I've looked at the moon (and several of the planets) through a telescope and seen that it is not it's own source of light . I've set up Starlink and watched the satellites pass overhead where they are predicted to be , I've travelled to the other side of world and seen that the planes I'm on follow flight paths only explainable by a globe earth. I've watched the sky (God's creation is mind boggling) from the other side of the world, and seen that the sky is what is predicted by the science that backs up the reality of a rotating globe earth that is circling the sun.

That's how I know the world is a rotating globe.

On the topic of Biblical interpretation, can I suggest humility is key. Having gone through a period where I reconsidered almost everything I believed the bible taught, I would suggest that when our interpretation differs from that of most Christians across the denominational spectrum, it is worth evaluating why we think we are right and everyone else is wrong. At the very least, we should dive in and study what scholars across the spectrum believe and why. Then carefully and prayerfully consider why God would reveal something to us that he has chosen not to reveal to so many other godly people.

Sunset & sunrise are a matter of perception of distance the sun doesn't actually set or rise it is just circling the Heavens as is the moon along with the stars just as God ordained it to be.

Nope. Observe it and you will see how it works. In just few minutes it "dives" directly below the horizon. It circles nowhere.

Where in the bible is Antarctica even mentioned, let alone described as circumferencing the earth? And if it's not in the bible, what is your source for God saying that Antarctica circumferences the earth?

It mentions the boundaries & the doors that stop the seas gushing forth, it also mentions that the earth is a circle.

They don't show the shape of the earth they are not up far enough for that.

Yes those verses in Job do talk about the seas having boundaries, and they match what God said in Genesis 1:9:

“Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so.” (Ge 1:9 NKJV)

Job 38 also says that the sea has clothes and a swaddling band. You seem to be saying that the bars and doors are literal, so do you believe that the clothes and swaddling band of the sea are literal, too? I believe that these are all pictures.

The bible nowhere says that the earth is a circle. We have discussed this matter before, but I repeat, the bible does have a verse which shows that the earth has a circle:

“[It is] He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants [are] like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.” (Isa 40:22 NKJV)

It does not say "The earth is a circle." As John Gill said in his commentary: "Kimchi rightly observes, that the heavens are the circle of the earth, which is the centre of them, and around which they are; and so it signifies, that the Lord sits or dwells in the heavens, from whence he beholds the children of men." Barnes says: "The circle of the earth Or rather, “above” the circle of the earth. The word rendered ‘circle’ denotes “a circle, sphere, or arch”; and is applied to the arch or vault of the heavens, in Pr 8:27 Job 22:14."
