Absolutely. Confession first, then daily mass! God Love you!

So I can go to confession and receive absolution even now? I'm only baptised. I'm not confirmed. I'm not really a Catholic yet. I just wear the Catholic icon. Does anyone know for sure?

You don't need to confess any sins committed before baptism, since baptism washes away all prior sins.

But I was baptised this past Sunday and have committed a mortal sin since then.

Holly, if your baptism was valid, then, yes, you are "eligible" for the sacrament of confession. In fact, people are encouraged to go to confession as part of their preparation for Confirmation.

I would encourage you to stop for a moment and reflect, though, on what it is you're doing. You've obviously been seeking to understand the Catholic faith better (along with some others) and have intended to convert to it, but have thus far done so in a very....err..."uncommitted" or "skittish" fashion, and that's no good. Certainly doubt is a normal part of everyone's life, especially as they are examining something new, but there is "doubt" and then there's constantly jumping from one lily pad to another to another, back to the first and on to the second again, etc.

Before you go to confession, I would really advise stopping and thinking about what you're doing first. Intending to become Catholic and then getting baptized in a non-Catholic Church, and then wanting to go to confession... ...

As many have advised you, slow down and take it one step at a time. God will not run out of patience with you. But if you start jumping around all over the place spiritually, God Himself will look on in sadness, unable to do much good for you since you won't stop and listen for His voice. At best, you'll not profit, and, at worst, you'll end up doing yourself harm.

Peace,

Greg

Yeah well I intend to stop the jumping around. Thanks for the advice Greg. :)

Well I meant read a verse before reciting that particular decade. See, I have ADHD and so it's really hard to concentrate on the mysteries while reciting the rosary.

Have you tried saying the Jesus Prayer too? Much shorter; possibly you could fous better, since you're only focusing on the meaning of what you're saying, calling out to God, not meditating on anything in particular?

Yes, one day. That is all that is ever needed.

Yesterday is gone... all we can do is ask for forgiveness, and move on.

Tomorrow is a future abstract, that is never really a reality.

The only day that we live in, is one day... today

Each morning pray for our God to give you the grace, to resist the sin, for this one day. :crossrc:

It does work.

That is really, really interesting to me....I think I need to keep this idea in mind...

Holly I have attention disorder as well and I manage to pray the Rosary...even people without this problem have issues paying attention...this is likely because Satan doesn't want you to receive the many graces you get from it.

That's very possible Dominus Fidelis. I will try to pray the rosary from now on. :)

Good...just start small. Try doing one decade a day and really try and make the event you are imagining come alive. What does the nativity crib look like...what kind of wood, for example?

Ah okay. Well I went to bed before you posted this last night and I went ahead and prayed the whole thing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to concentrate very well. I will take your advice though. Thank you!

I have found the Scriptural Rosary very helpful.

It is 100% Catholic, but it gives you a scripture verse for each bead, relative to the mystery you are doing.

Cannot Goggle it now, I'm about out the door, but that really helped me to focus all through each decade!

Good luck and enjoy the Rosary! It's just one of the reatest things! :) :) :)

Thank you! That sounds like a great idea!
