Wow! A TON of great suggestions here! I used to get confused on WHO I was praying to????

The Heavenly Father, or talking directly to God...AND Jesus...AND/OR the Holy Counselor?? Things like that. It was confusing, but I've now grasped a better concept of it all. As a "baby" Christian myself for the past three years, I've also been cautioned about praying to God with "Santa Claus" prayers. Something we would maybe do as children like "God, let me win the lottery & I promise to do good things with all that money, etc".

"God, why on earth don't you punish so & so for being so obviously evil??"

These are all no-no's, as the thing we should pray about MOST is to have revealed His will for us & that we FOLLOW it. The rest of the circumstances around us are not for us to understand, as we do not know His will for everything, or why/how things work out.
I've learned that God knows what's in my heart, so asking for worldly things is moot. Nowadays, I start by thanking and praising God for all He's done in my life, and where He's taking me. I also thank Jesus for what He did to reconcile my sins before God & sending the Holy Spirit down to me in His place for now. Then, I ask God to give me the strength & just enough wisdom to stay on the path He has chosen for me. Like I said, he knows what's in my heart, so I don't have to ask for the obvious. "Gee, my car is dead, what am I going to do???", for example. I know God will take care of me, even if blessings are somewhat in disguise at first, LOL!
Best wishes to you & God bless!
