Dear Ashley90. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Jesus points also out: " On the two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God wants our Love, freely given and NO tags attached.
In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: "Ask and ye shall receive," there we ask God for Love and Joy, then we thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends. We keep asking and receiving, then hank God and share all Love and Joy with all around us: our neighbour.
The Bible tells us: " Repent, and be Born Again." God wants us to give up all our selfish wants and likings, God wants us Loving God, and loving our neighbour. We will find that we change slowly to the sons and daughters, which God wants us to be: Loving and Caring. God sees our loving efforts, and God will approve and Bless us. A Christian`s strong weapon is Love, with love we can overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour. People will soon treat us the same as we treat people, and Love and Compassion will be surround us wherever we go. God will know that we are ready to listen to Him and do what God has for us. Try this dear Ashley, and God/Jesus will be with you.
I say this with love, from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Hi Ashley;

I see there has been lot's of good advice for you here, so I'll try not to clutter the thread with a long, drawn out explanation of the Christian doctrine of salvation :) , but I do want to encourage you to continue to attend church when you can, and to encourage you to pray to God over the condition of your heart and mind with regard to accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior... be completely open and honest with Him, because He knows you better than you know yourself! Also, take the time to wait for any kind of response He might give you... God communicates in many ways, and you may be surprised to discover how ready He is to speak to you in ways of His choosing.

Finally, let me ask if there is any specific reason that you don't think you are ready to receive Him... is there something preventing you from believing? Or maybe something that keeps you from making a commitment to follow Him?

Praying for you!
Mike

Dear ashleyn90. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells us: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds. The second is like it, love our neighbour as we love ourselves."
Jesus also tells us, that on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. God wants our Love, freely given and No condition tagged on.
To start we treat all we know and all we meet, treat them as we would love to be treated, with kindness and always friendly words. God will approve of us, and God will bless us. People around us will treat us the same as we treat people. A Christian`s great weapon is Love, love will always get us what we need, and life will be enjoyable. Matthew 7: 7-10: tells us: " ask and ye shall receive," then we ask God for Love and Joy, and thank God, and share all around us. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring. Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us, JESUS IS THE WAY. In Luke 10: 25-28: Jesus told us: DO THIS AND YOU SHALL LIVE. I say this with love, ashleyn. Greetings from Emmy,
your sister in Christ.

Dear Ashleyn90. When you are ready to follow our Lord`s Commandments to Love and Care. In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells us. "The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. The second is like it: Love our neighbour as we love ourselves."
( neighbour is all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends)
In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: " ask and you shall receive," then thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour. Keep asking and receiving, then thank God and share all Love and Joy with your neighbour.
God will see our loving efforts, and God will bless us.
The Bible tells us " Repent and be Born Again." Give up all our selfish thoughts and wishes, and become as God wants us to be: Loving God above all else, and loving our neighbour as we love ourselves. That does not come easy to us,
but God wants it from us. God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. Love is a Christian`s great weapon and Love is very catching.
Gradually we will change into the men and women which God our Heavenly Father wants us to be. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring.
Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us, JESUS IS THE WAY. I say this with love, Ashleyn. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Ashleyn as a fellow sister of Christ I encourage you along with Emmy to let the love of God into your life.
I recently gave my heart to Jesus and it was the best thing I ever did. Jesus wants you to come into His arms as you are precious to Him.
Is there another Christian you can also talk to? If not there are lots of Christians here who are very happy to make you feel welcome and loved.
