How do we know if we are living our lives the right way, and god is leading us in the right direction? I pray to god all day to lead me in the right direction, and im trying everyday to do the right things and praise god. I have two weeks left at my job, and my boyfriend just cheated on me. I feel like my life is falling apart. Is this gods plan?

Trusting in the Lord and forgiving those who sin against us sounds easy until you live it doesn't it.

Consider it a blessing that you have a chance to actually do these things, do them in His name and let this bring you closer to Him.

you have an enemy that will pull out all the stops to convince you that you are not following God's leading by influencing the lost of this world to persecute you; but remember:

When God leads you in the right direction, remember He might be protecting you from future heartache and grief. Sorry to hear about your boyfriend. Look at it this way -- better to find out that he has a vulnerability now, than ten years from now when it would hit you harder.

I can imagine it would feel like there's no security left to hold onto. Use this as a time to bring your mind into a realization of leaning solely on God, who is fully capable of taking care of you. It's not easy for any of us to let go of stabilities, especially such major ones.

Dive into the next current of life, and see where the river takes you!

the path may get "rough and rocky" we can uphold God's standards
and godliness in our own lives...it's up to us to decide between
right and wrong.

Your boyfriend cheated on you...that was his choice,your boyfriend
choose to please his fleshly nature instead of fleeing from temptation.

If your world is falling apart, what is the real cause of that?
Is it your boyfriend's unfaithfulness or something else?

The Lord is our "anchor" and "lighthouse" no matter what comes our
way, whether it's a cheating boyfriend, a disloyal friend, a wayward parent etc.
in the Lord we have hope, security (it is well with our soul--we are saved) and a
good future.

I tend to think that suffering is God setting us up, to test our faith in our Lord Jesus who, thankfully heaps relief for me, will spiritually fight this Satanic deception known as sin. If you know for sure that you are in God's will, then you have all the confidence you need from Him. It sounds like God is cultivating or "trimming" you to draw you closer to Himself. Just keep pursuing Him.

We know if we are living correctly by :

1. Comparing how we are living to Gods Word.
2. To Gods nature, character, and person.
3. Seeing if we have willingly suppressed our Moral Conscience so we can do what we want.
4. Seeing if consequences result from an action we did, that ends up being detrimental to us.

You can generally tell if God is leading you by :

a. It will line up with his written Word.
b. It will not go against his own nature, character, and person.
c. It will not involve immorality or unethical behavior.
d. It will line up with God overall desire for wellbeing in your life .
e. It will somehow enhance extension of the Kingdom of God on earth , oftentimes.

Bear in mind that God grants us ALL freewill choice in decisions we make ...and your b/f has that right too even though it ends up being painful to us many times. I can assuredly tell you this though : If you and your b/f has been living a lifestyle of immorality, then that relationship is definetely not Gods will for you and he has a far better plan than that for your life.

I would use this painful time to reflect on the situation, learn what you can from it, make adjustments for the future relationships that are going to come your way, confess and repent from any immorality that may have taken place , and use the time to recoup and draw closer to God . Maybe purposely give yourself some time off from men in the interest of personal restoration, healing, and rekindle your Christian Walk. Allow God to come into your pain and let him walk with you thru it and over it.
