Acording to the Bible, if you have recieved Christ as your savior and Him killed in your place. That He is the Son of God and was perfect in all points; Being He was the only one to take away your sins. Then Bible says you are saved.... Plain and simple. Though in different beliefs there is alot of error, this is why I odn't go with any one thing, but whatthe Bible teaches..

But you will understand things i nthe Bible differently as you grow in Christ, not everything will make sense at first

How do I know I am saved. There are so many different beliefs and interpretations of Scriptures. Obviously it takes faith, but if most religions and denominations require faith, how do you destinguish which one is the right way?
Other religion's "faith" is man-made. In christianity, faith is given to us when we are regenerated by the grace of God.
How do you know you are saved? Measure your life to the word of God. And like someone else said, you grow in your faith, not everything makes sense at the beginning.

Hi;
I just ran across this forum and seen this question. In my younger years, I often wondered about this very thing. I thought there must be fireworks or I would instantly become someone else.....not so! For some it can be a real emotional experience and for others they won't understand until days or even months later that they have indeed been saved. For me, it was a feeling of a ton lefted off my soul. It wasn't until the next few weeks at church that I really knew I had changed. My attitude, my prayers, my outlook was different. I became VERY interested in studying the Bible and the more I studyed the more I wanted to. As time and years has gone by, I know there were times in my life that I thought I was by myself but looking back I can see the hand of God in everything. You must first believe that you have been forgiven, its a gift from God. In order for it to take place you must recieve it, just as you would any gift handed to you. However this is the best gift of all. Believe in your heart that you have been saved, and you will be. Truely ask and mean it when you repent. Do not do old habits again. You are now a child in Christ and BECAUSE you are your habits and lifestyle must change. This is not difficult because your desires are different..... If you are in doubt, pray again and believe. God Bless you!

"For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (decalred righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms his salvation."
ROM 10:10

So do you believe in your heart that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and will you be willing to confess it openly? If you do, that means you're saved. Because without the Holy Spirit, you can't do those things.

The Good News [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I am a sinner.[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
Sin is anything contrary to the nature of God. Every person is born a sinner, and every person commits sin. God is holy and hates sin. Because He is just, He must punish sin. The punishment for sin is eternal separation from God.
God's Word says: ... all have sinned ... (Romans 3:23); For the wages of sin is death … (Romans 6:23a).

I am incapable of saving myself.
Because I am born in sin, no action of mine can accomplish anything toward my salvation. I cannot get to heaven by being good, attending church, praying or anything else. I am helpless and unable to make myself worthy of heaven.
God says: Not by [good works] which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us … (Titus 3:5a).

Only God can save me because only God is sinless.
God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to be my Savior by paying the penalty of death for my sin in my place.
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

My salvation was accomplished on the cross.
Jesus paid for all my sin by dying, shedding His blood and rising from the grave. His blood paid my penalty. His resurrection defeated death. He is now in heaven, interceding for me before God.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God … (1 Peter 3:18a).

I can only be saved by trusting that what Jesus Christ did on the cross is sufficient to save me.
Believing is trusting what God did for me. I can add nothing to my salvation. When I believe that His death was a complete payment for me, He gives me eternal life.
… Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved … (Acts 16:31)
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

Once I am saved, I am saved for eternity.
Once saved, I cannot lose my salvation. No creature or thing can take it away from me. I cannot lose it by any action of my own.
God says:
… I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish. (John 10:28)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
