Hi Alex, first off, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY ..

I don't have a lot of time right now, but there are several things you should do as soon as possible. If you own a Bible, you can begin by reading it. I think you should start in the New Testament with the Gospel of John as that is a great book for new believers. If you have any questions about what you've read, you can always come back here and ask (or go to your church, of course).

You should also pray every day. You can do that in response to what you are reading in the Bible, in fact, you can and should pray all the time.

One thing that helps me whan I set aside a special time for prayer is to follow a pattern. Here's what I often use as an order to my prayer:

A - Adoration (praise God for who He is)
C - Confession (ask God to forgive your daily sins)
T - Thanksgiving (remember to thank God for everything)
S- Supplication (prayer for others needs)​

I also have to agree with our Mormon friend above. You need to find a church to grow in ASAP if you don't already have one. There you can be in fellowship with other Christians each week, hear the Word preached and taught, be part of corporate prayer, be baptized and take part in Communion (and that's just where it begins).

I've really gotta go now, but here's a link that you might find useful. It's a set of recordings by Dr. John MacArthur called "Spiritual Boot Camp" and this can be very useful as an answer to your question above, "What's next?".

You become a Christian by receiving Jesus Christ. It is He who makes you a Christian, a Christ-one. If you believe in Jesus Christ you have received Jesus Christ. If you have not received Jesus Christ, then you have not truly believed in Jesus Christ.

One last thing, ask the church you end up going to if the offer any "Small Group Bible Studies". They are often held at someone's home on a weekday evening (though some are held at church). These are very helpful as they give you a chance to study the Bible with other Christians, ask questions, pray, etc., in a much more intimate setting than a church service.

Best place to start is by thanking Jesus. Thanksgiving is important because it puts the focus on Christ. Ask the Spirit how to walk by faith. The just live by faith, we need to get established, but we don't want men's traditions. Try reading Romans 16:26, then read through Romans. None of this is hard, don't put yourself under unrealistic goals. Equally important don't let people do that to you either.

Accept that with a new life comes a new nature. The old nature is still with you, but you will find that it loses the power that it once had over your actions. Instead, those actions will have a new nature as their impetus, a nature that is yet another gift from God to help us as we continue our journey through this life:

In Christian behavior the emphasis is not only on doing the right things, but also on doing them for the right reasons. The motivations listed as 'the acts of the sinful nature' are those motivations which we are not to accept as the proper impetus for any of our actions. On the other hand, the motivations listed as 'the fruit of the Spirit' are the proper impetus for our actions. But just as our salvation is a gift from God which we did nothing to earn, likewise the fruit of the Spirit is also a gift from God which we did nothing to earn. That is why all our actions which further the kingdom of God are not to be seen as being to our credit, but rather as being to his, since in order to accomplish anything we had to first have the fruit of the Spirit implanted within us.

We start by asking God, ( in Matthew 7: 7-10 we ask God for Love and Joy, then we thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all we know and all we meet, friends and not-friends. We keep asking God for Love and Joy, then we share it with all around us. God will see our loving efforts, and God will approve and Bless us. We might stumble or forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving and Caring.

I want to pray you receive the Holy Spirit, in Jesus's name. Get a copy of the scriptures. Read the gospel of John to begin. Seek out a priest or pastor.

Welcome to the family... now begins the most wonderful, confusing, exciting, awe inspiring, wisdom creating journey you will ever undertake.

The simplest way is to begin and maintain that daily relationship with Jesus in prayer and study of His Word. Even the simplest attempt to reach out Him will be honored by His mercy, grace, power, and love being poured out upon you. God made it simple for those who sincerely seek Him.

The rest will all fall into place as you learn His ways. Look at how He taught His disciples, you are now one of His disciples. If things seem complicated or hard to understand, pray for wisdom and know that He will teach you.

When you feel strongly connected and confident you are growing in your relationship, ask Him to guide you to the right church. Don't be discouraged if you don't find perfection in these places. God is working with all His people, and some don't take the growth as seriously as others. Just stay focused on what He wants to teach you and how you can mature as a Christian.

Good churches will have authentic love at work. People will be bearing the fruit of the Spirit which will reflect peace, joy, love, kindness, patience, and they won't be self-centered as much as other-centered.

My advice is to seek a church that is led by the Spirit and is not against the power of the Holy Spirit and His Spiritual gifts, which will empower your ministry calling. Without this power, we won't bear the kind of fruit He is worthy of in our vessel. It's never us, it's always His power, so there is nothing to boast about. He will glorify Himself in you if you submit yourself each day to His will in prayer.

And may the Lord Jesus fill you with His power, mercy, love, and joy as you go forth on your journey. Don't be afraid to cast aside every sin and every thing that slows you down. You have a calling you cannot deny, run with Jesus!

Very important, God wants our Love, freely given and NO conditions asked.
A good way to start is: treat all you know and all you meet, treat them as you would love to be treated: always kindly and with friendly words. Love is a Christian`s great weapon, with love we can overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour. It might take a bit longer than lashing out with tongue or fist, BUT
Love is always victorious.
In Matthew 7: 7-10: we can ask God for Love and Joy, then thank God, and share all with our neighbour. God will approve and Bless us, and by following Christ`s Commandments to Love, we are gradually changing into Christ`s followers: Christians. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving God with all our beings, and loving our neighbour as we love ourselves, including the occasional helping hand.

I think Alex said he believes --"what next?" I would just say one needs to know they are "born again" as Jesus said in John 1; John 3; John 14 --very important!

Sometimes people get things backwards. Justification (salvation) comes before sanctification (Holy living). Get Christ first then He will make the rest will fall into place. His salvation is free Isaiah 55:1. Jesus is free for the asking. He doesn't reject anyone who comes to Him John 6:37. Everyone who calls upon Him to be saved , He saves Romans 10:13.

A man in acts 16 asked the same question you did. The answer is in acts 16:31"believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved".
