Do they say that Europeans are descended from Japheth, Asians from Shem, and Africans from Ham, like they used to say? I'm not sure how else you could explain these different ethnic groups coming about in 6,000 years...could you?

Without resorting to some idea like black people are cursed because they are descended from Ham? lol.

Why don't you just go to his website and find out what he thinks?

If I remember correctly, Ken Ham claims there is only one race: the human race.

Skin coloration is due to the amount of melanin in the skin.

Do they say that Europeans are descended from Japheth, Asians from Shem, and Africans from Ham, like they used to say?

Yes, I believe so.

God did it.

Black people are not cursed because they came from Ham.

God did not curse Ham, He cursed his son, Canaan, who went north to settle in what later became the Land of Canaan.

You could do in in 5 generations, I'd say.

I've heard some propose that races happened at the Tower of Babel...
And the ancient Greeks thought that Africans were black because of an accident involving the Sun God and his chariot!

Myths, legends, religion... and then came science!

The concept of a "race" is alien to the Bible. Instead it has "nations", 71 of them, all descended from Noah. They're identified by language, not genetics.

It says nothing about having dark skin because of a curse. That was a fiction manufactured by Europeans.

There is no biblical basis for my belief. I believe that God created Adam and Eve with the genetic DNA to produce all the various colors. (He loves variety) I think that the language confusion God brought about He did by colors and features already present and that when they segregated themselves into same language groups, that further, over a short period of time, intensified the differences. No way to say what happened biblically.

True, it doesn't say exactly that dark skin was a result of the curse. However, Genesis does say that:

1. Ham is cursed.
2. This curse extends to at least one son (Canaan), and includes slavery for all descendants.
3. A son of Ham is explicitly named "black skinned" (Cush).

From there, it's not much of a leap at all to say that the the curse of Ham commits black skinned people to scripturally approved slavery. And that's how it has been interpreted by many people for a long time.

That was a fiction manufactured by Europeans.

Well, the above three logical points are evident early on, such as in the writings of Philo, who lived in Egypt, part Africa - not Europe, around the time of Jesus - so I wouldn't call it a European invention.

However, the Book of Mormon is explicit that black skin is due to a curse from God, so maybe call the Mormon detailing of it "American"?

Can you state what verse calls any son of Ham "black skinned"--looked all over for it and can't find it.
