What was your favorite Gaither video, songs or singer that sang on the Gaither Homecoming videos or with the Gaither Vocal Band? My favorite of their videos was "Joy in the Camp". I liked the song that the Gaithers wrote "I Could Never Outlove the Lord". And I liked the GVB best in the years that Guy Penrod and Mark Lowry were in the group. Anybody like to discuss the Gaithers?

I used to live in South Carolina, sometimes late at night the local radio station would play some of the Gaither's old stuff, older versions of "I just feel like something good is about to happen", or "Greater is He that is in me", I think I like their older stuff better than the new. But I will say this, Bill and Gloria Gaither have done a lot for Southern Gospel music, lol, when people in Ohio and Pennsylvania know who they are you know they're big! Hardly anybody listens to southern gospel around here.

Was just thinking about the Gaithers. I came across one of their songs on youtube. I've just recently been doing mad searches for music I use to listen to when I was younger. Well, the one that really gets me everytime is by the Gaither Vocal Band: "Alpha and Omega". That song right there got me crying a few times a few weeks ago. Have to play it twice everytime I hear that one.

There is a place called the Gospel Beat where they have lots of videos from the Gaithers, not sure if i can share the link or not

I think the Gaither Vocal band was at its best with mark, david, guy and Bill. I really like "That's when the angels rejoice"

Hi Alilsa,

There's so many I like. But I like one called, "Nothin' But The Blood."

That's a great one.

Thanks for the thread. :)

I love the Gaithers, and have many of there early albums--back to the very first one! I was able to see the Trio two times (after Danny left, and Gary McSpaddin joined). Their music will live with the church forever!

Here is the story of Because He Lives, and at the end, Danny and the trio sing that wonderful last verse!

Actually, I've got that video tape. On it it has a verse of "The King Is Coming" that isn't in the songbooks that they sang in Jerusalem. I have the video "Revival" by them and there is a new verse of "We Have this Moment" that isn't in the songbooks either. you tube has alot of Gaither music too.

You are right. Here is the verse that is very rarely heard. It's ok to post here because it is less than 20% of the total lyrics.

All the railroad road cars are empty,
As they rattle down the tracks.
In the newsroom no one watches,
As machines type pointless facts.
All the planes veer off their courses,
No one sits at the controls,
For the King of all the ages
Comes to claim eternal souls.

On the albums that I have, this verse is never sung, but is always spoken by Gloria.

I've heard that verse and no it is not on the video. The verse I heard is something about" this man Jesus changing life but some day will be seen by mortal eye splitting through the eastern sky"... I would have to play the video and write the words down since i don't remember the exact words but Gary McSpadden sang with the Gaithers in Jerusalem on the "Because He Lives "video. Thats the video that Mark interviewed the Gaithers and played old clips. The other song though, "We have this Moment" is about" Hear our grown up daughter calling from her home and hear the words I wrote today, Hear the boy in the other room playing his guitar loudly he may never be like today."

Actually, the last verse of the "King is Coming" is "When this Jesus walked these hillsides, People wondered who he was, Coud this man be the Messiah touching lives the way he does. But one day there'll be no question, he'll be seen by every eye. King of Kings and Lord eternal, splitting through the Eastern sky. (Bill and Gloria Gaither).
